The eldar flyer which puts out 4 str 8 AP2 shots a turn is pretty much one of the greatest anti air units out there in terms of damage potential. It also serves as a decent anti armour/MC unit too.
AV 10 armour does make it vulnerable though.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster





Crimson Hunters are the best anti-air options in the Eldar army. They have 4 shots which could take out a flyer, and thanks to the Skyhunter special rule you can re roll armour penetrations that don't cause either a glancing or penetrating hit.

Agreed, they are the best at shooting down another flyer.

They are the absolute worst at sticking around to do it. Pray your opponent doesn't have a quad gun, and you manage to get the first shots off.

You did forget the reroll to damage...but Crimson Hunter Exarchs are also great for Instant Death Precision Shots and Vehicle Squadron Precision shots.

Crimson Hunters are one of those units that see an exponential increase in strength as player skill increases.

But they do require an Autarch, Scrier's Gaze, or a Comms.


Ok factoring in re roll to pen, it averages 2 hull points on an av 12 flier (when jinking)
Also prescsion shots are easily looked out sired. (not in vehicle squadrons of course though)
Which is 50 points, or an extra power thats not needed. Though scriers gaze is quite nice for keeping jet bikes in reserve.

You should have slightly over 2 hull points of damage, reason being jinx saves are 5+ normally, and Ap2 on the laserslances means 5+ to instant kill flyers.

Yep, which still wont ruin any fliers day, but will do pretty well. I would still prefer 10 guided warp spiders
