If your looking for a chapter who fight to the last, will never surrender, who value brotherhood above all else, go Imperial fists. I prefer Imperial Fists, just because I love all of their successor chapters.
The latter values resonate more with my beliefs and values in life so that's a gigantic plus.

Fists for the former, DA for the latter.
Considering my 4-5k of Death Guard including a Titan, I think the Emperor deserves some love from the heart, rather than a plague knife for once
conker249 wrote:I love my Imperial fists, just hate painting yellow, so many layers.., but I am getting better at it. I just started a ravenwing bike army. so why not both

If you want a general army with lots of flexability, Imperial fists can do just about everything and every build. their chapter tactic is "always on" Also, Lysander is a beast in combat. Not learned much on how to play
DA yet. but my vote is Imperial Fists
I am actually good with Yellow as I painted 1 marine complete using yellow to test the waters and I really don't mind it. Lysander is a massive beast indeed, I actually bought him ( my marines are unpainted but assembled, this thread was to finally decide on colors ) and he personally ran straight through 3 Tyranid warriors, beat a Hive Tyrant's skull in, then was finally killed off by a Exocrines stomp. I was pretty proud of that little slugger

If yo want to run a more generalist force, or especially if you want to run Tac/Dev heavy, go with the Imperial Fists.
Done and done, Generalist is more my playstyle.

I currently run my marines as an Imperial fists army but am building up bikes to also be able to run as a Scars successor.
Why anyone would copy a GW chapter exactly is beyond me.
Honestly it's purely because I cannot get into an army that much if they do not relate to me in some way or at the very least capture my imagination. Otherwise it just feels like moving plastic on a board. I get completely immersed in games when their background captures me.. all the heart stopping desperate rolls, unforseen events... and thats all the fun for me

Also white robes over dark green armor just looks awesome.
But some of the successors of the Imperial Fists are great too.
Tough call.
This right here was the main reason I as in split minds ... Purely because the Dark Angels style and general Aura is out standing and walk on the brink of a Grim Reaper style which is awesome.
And so it is decided guys I will keep them Imperial Fists as originally planned.
Thanks for all your input and opinions it has finally sealed the deal after months of wondering.

If you're more of a competitive player then (currently) the choice would be IF as they are all around pretty solid and have a good supplement which makes a bolter effectively twin linked.
Their history is awesome I picked up the
DA codex on the new release purely to read their background. Honestly never saw that coming, I especially love Cypher's part.

Imperial Fist yellow is somewhat countered by Dark Angels Green, Bone and Black. Both should present good painting opportunities.
Fluff wise, Dark Angels have a much richer back ground and whilst some people laugh/mock it, it is interesting.
They do have a very interesting background indeed. I am reading Seventh Retribution ( FIsts ) at the moment and the more I get into it the more it is swaying me.
THanks again guys !
