As long they give us the choice to make our miniatures and/or bring back the specialist games, I am kind of okay with that.

An ownership by hasbro would likely give you neither of those. Hasbro ownership would probably result in a line of toys, some board and video games and maybe a prepainted game a'la the Star Wars CMG.
I'm not GW fan, but the GW IP is in much better hands with GW than with Hasbro.

DarkWind wrote:So as we all know GW who has been the emperor of wargaming over the last 20 years or so is starting to decline. Even tho amongst the wargaming community Warhammer is still going strong I have noticed people turning away from GW games and wargaming in general. How does everyone feel about the state of our hobby? Do you think it's on a major decline, or do you think because of the amount of new games out there it's going through a phase of evolution?
Wargaming was there before GW, it will be there after it dies the death of 1000 cuts.
The wargaming hobby as a whole has never been stronger. There is something for everyone, and there is no limit to where it is going.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Good point, but I really do not see almost any other gaming company buying the IP rather easily (well, realistically that is).

I think it is actually a great benefit that GW is declining slowly, or the market probably wouldn't be able to take the influx of old GW players.

and 40k was like McDonalds - you could get it anywhere - it wouldn't necessarily satisfy, but it was probably better than nothing.
