It tells us to do them all individually, one at a time. If any vehicle ends up out of range of the remaining wounds, the pool is emptied. If any vehicle ends up out of melta range, the rule ceases to allow the extra d6 pen.
Every time we resolve a hit we look at what it is. We confirm that it's within range, within Line Of Sight, and apply any special rules. If you're outside of the range for melta to be applicable, it's not, end of.

I'm not sure how the rule actually goes here. I would play it by checking the range for every hit, but maybe that is incorrect.
How do I read the message above? Automatically Appended Next Post: Out of Range rule from pg 16 does not really help.
All vehicles in the squadron were in range when to hit rolls were made. So all melta shots would then be gaining the 2d6. You would not check the range again at a later point.
As I said, I would not play it that way, probably

My understanding, would be that as long as any a taret vehicle is in 2d6 melta rang of atleast one of the firing squad then all hits on that vehicle would be 2d6 melta.
Don't have book handy, and not even sure that method is supported by the rules.

How many Hull Points on the Ghost Ark?
I'm flicking through the net and stumbled on the restriction it might run a fowl of, on one of the preview pages at that...
