Not the core troop choice. It would be suicide for GW to charge £20 for five basic battle sisters when every other troop choice in the game at that points level come in ten figure boxes. They would be charging the same amount of money for a squad of battle sisters as for one of their elite units for instance. Would you bother buying tactical marines if they cost as much as terminators?

Not MT scions.

Scions are an elites choice in a regular list. They can only be made a troops choice with a supplement codex and you don't need that many of them to make an army. The same can be said of Crisis Suits in the Farsight book. A normal troop squad is sold in batches of ten. Elites units, fine. But a basic of battle sisters is a troop choice with each model being around 10pts each; they are not elite infantry as opposed to a scion that is nearly twice that in pts. And yes, the model quality of the basic SoB unit will not be the same as an elites unit like Scions or whatever elite units are made for them. They'll have much less accesories and weapon options because they are...wait for it...troops and should be sold as such. Which is good. The basic troops should not be sold at the same cost as elite units. Nobody would buy them.

What will probably happen is no new model for the next 10 years. And then, maybe, who knows what GW will look like in ten years. If they even still exists.

They got a new codex release and not a single new unit. That's pretty telling.

Grey Knights used to be an all metal inquisitor army called Demonhunters but got upgraded to a plastic army with three plastic kits (I think: termies, power armour, dreadknight). Many of these relied on multipurpose units.

Whereas Dark Eldar had a series of plastic releases that put out an entire range in plastic and added a lot of new units to the game.

Which of these do you think GW would adopt as a strategy if they released SoB? One is obviously much less risky and easy to manage but would leave them kind of lacklustre (ie just plastic battle sisters and seraphim), whereas the other carries a lot of risk but would add things to the army and make them more interesting.

Grey Knights existed as a single Squad of Metal Terminator Models and had a 1-2 page pamphlet for rules, once.
Dark Eldar popped up in 3rd ed.

If GW re-inserts the SoB, the Adepta Soritas now, into their main line of products ( ie sold everywhere ), they need plastic Models.
100% of plastic Models.
So either go big or go home.

With the allies rules, they could design and put out a box at a time to gradually put them into a bigger place in the game. Just a thought on my part, but it might work for them.

Its not necessarily as bad a sign as you're making it out to be. It could also be that they were simply making the rules of the army actually purchasable pending a full update in the future. Indeed, making the rules available was stated as a goal for the digital codex by GW Digital.

And, as I've said in the past, even this non-model update seems to have sold well, which provides GW with amble incentive to properly update the SoB at some point.

I don't see why they'd do that. That seems like a convoluted and very non-GW way to do a release. More likely, they'd do their now usual thing of a few releases at once over a week or two. A big release with lots of fanfare to try and generate lots of sales.

I actually don't care what GW does with the Sisters, models-wise. There's studios producing better models at better prices that work just as well as anything that GW produces, on who I have grown tired of waiting.

RH has its Sisters of Eternal Mercy slated to begin production in the next few years, but the 3D sculpts and concept art they have released thus far look incredibly bad-ass, and my experiences with them through the TGG Kickstarter have been nothing but positive.

If you want awesome metal female figures, go to Infinity. Their details is stunning compared to the out of date SOB models. And, just as an added bonus, their females actually look like females, not cross dressers.

The new Sick Man of Europe

They would probably do a Battle Sisters, which contains 5 models for £30, and all the parts to make different wargear/squad to try and make it not a rip-off.

I don't think they'll cut them down to half-squad size from the current box, which has 4 Sisters with bolters, 1 with Simulacrum, 1 Super Sister, 1 SB Sister and 1 Melta Sister.

What I expect to see (assuming plastic Sisters become a reality) is a box of 10 Sisters, with weapons on sprues to make either BSS, BSS w/ Specials, 1-2 Super Sisters, or a Retributor Squad.

Of course, if you want to build both, you'll need 2 boxes to have enough guns.

Wait, are we talking about the same army they didn't even bother to give a 7th edition FAQ for when every other army did? Lol! Keep dreaming, I'll go looking for those dragons...

Well we were assuming that they would be getting models at all, which is a leap I admit. But if they do get new models they'd probably get a box of 10 plastic bodies that can be made into multiple units.

I'd say far more people have seen Bigfoot than evidence of plastic Sisters of Battle.

If the do get new models, those will likely be dragon-sized. Not GW model dragon sized, I mean real-life dragon-sized .
