Hey everything looks great except one thing. The storm talons salamander icon on the left side is backwards. It's even more evident because it's facing the other direction on the right side.

I really hate saying this, but it would benefit you and your client if you fixed that technicality. I'm interested in your landraider color palate. Looks great!

With that icons it was a bit fail, I and my client didn't notice that :(

This time something "speed painted":

1.) Everything looks great. Some looks greater than others, but thats a matter of taste.

2.) Whenever I see something I don't like with a paintjob, I always just get that mental visual of my last game, and then I remember, dude, its painted. And i don't care how anymore. lol.

Good stuff keep posting and painting!

Nice job despite the somewhat ugly look of the model you had to work with :-)

Its not sleak or pretty model to start with by any stretch but that looks very nice :-)

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

All looks amazing to me, I only have an issue with airbrush work when the details are ignored and here you have edge highlighting, weathering, etc. etc. If I was going to paint as a business (i'm too crap unfortunately) I would definitely use an airbrush over a paint brush for very obvious reasons. Personally I think the OSL looks great, particularly like the two beam ones though.

Hey what brand and model airbrush do you use?
Also fantastic job on the salamander! I love the tones of green and yellow you use on then and the blue light complements them perfectly!

Digging your work dude. Especially the green marines. However for me personally, there is too much osl. I prefer it a bit more subtle as otherwise it takes the emphasis off the rest of the model a little too much.

Just my preference. Skill however is awesome. Good job!

I use Iwata HP-C Plus. Previous I used H&S Ultra- IMO that was crap. Iwata is just awesome. With H&S I had problems with durability of the nozzle (about half year) and drying paint in it. Iwata don't have gigantic nozzle, which inside of it paint accumulates and next cause rupture of nozzle.

I dunno, if it works it works. I don't buy the "airbrush is cheating" mentality, not that that is what your are saying here.

I love these. I will say that, while technically awesome, I struggle a little bit with the WHY of some of the highlights and shadows you are doing with the airbrush work. In most cases it appears to be implying that the painters of the vehicles were doing some strange camouflage patterns rather than the natural highlighting of the environment. But that may be your goal!

It's amazing how much better your work is from the first page... From the Salamanders fighters onwards, you've really gone up a level or 10!

Fantastic work, well done!

I think all of your stuff is very very good. The undead are much better than that. They were made for your style and are possibly the best ghostly models I have ever seen. You have one very lucky client regardless of your cost

Hello,

Probably you thought that I am dead or finished with painting. No, I just had a really busy semester at the university. Now I am back! Harlequin Troupe has been painted! Great miniatures, but they need a lot of time to paint them on pro level sadly I didn't have so much time :(What do you think about them?

Your painting is amazing, more talent than me for sure. I would offer one bit of advice, as it's about the only way I could contribute. Most of your OSL is spot on, you picked great colors for it.

There are a couple places where it's off though. Particularly, blue light on red surface. If you shine a blue light on a red surface, it won't change the pigment color. You won't even get a lighter color red. You can fudge this, and make the red lighter, and the eye won't care. But when you apply blue OSL to a red surface, it looks painted on instead of like light. I've messed up quite a few times with this before I finally figured out what was wrong.

The hard way is to learn all about light color & pigment, and memorize the respective wheels and how they interact.

The easy way is to use a reference chart. They are readily available for things like stage makeup / costumes, since colored lights are frequently used in that environment. here is a link to one.

http://www.d.umn.edu/~mharvey/handbook5607.html

Your technique for applying the OSL is one of the best I've seen just fyi. Changing the colors up on the cast light (not the source) will make your work that much more amazing.
