Actually I think the first time I saw them and really looked closely was at your own. And they've already got me greedily eying other QK viable minis too. I think part of the interest is their resemblance to hl2 combine dudes, and looking great in general.

Also, it was the first box to show up on amazon that was both desirable and not grossly overpriced.

Kaplan (and Druze) are some of the best unified 'infantry squad' sets I've seen in miniature gaming. The sculpts and aesthetics of both just ooze awesome. The fact that Qapu Kalkhi get both is awesome.

Huh yeah that looks pretty intimidating, hafzas to fill up links, haris teams in both lists. Forgot you could take the little super cheap remotes for orders. I guess the Husam guy is the Spec Ops/ whatever you build out of experience yeah? Not real familiar with them but it looks like he's covering a lot of bases there.

The lists do not play how I like them to play, as there is no "surprise unit" such as a drop troop or a camo troop. But for Kaplans + Iguana, it's decent enough to run

The Husam is indeed the Spec Ops, and the Nasmat does not give orders, but you are not 10 orders anyway (Combat Groups can only have 10 orders in them max).

Yes, I was confusing the Nazmat with the 8pt remote for some reason. Its the little doctor/engineer drone though.

Druze huh... Looking them over, they do seem pretty not-bad at all. I don't like them as much as the Kaplans but then that would be a feat. Thanks for pointing them out, I would have kept skipping over them.

Huh... so Hafzas can link Druze just as well as Kaplans too then? Might be kind of neat to have an all Merc team, it would run pretty high in cost but you could take both Druze and Kaplans to a fight, with a couple of Hafza to make either a full link. And that x-visor for longer range seems pretty useful for the Druze.

Hmm they even have them on amazon, but trying to sell them for $45 bucks is a joke, that's at least ten bucks over what they should cost. Oh well, I may get them next time I want to spend proper money on models. Maybe.

Note that fluff-wise, the Kaplans HATE the Druze. The Druze are ruthless, cruel operatives, whereas the Kaplans are more professional and honorable.

Not that it really changes anything, but it is something I keep in mind!

And yes, Hafzas link with errything.

Rules wise Druze aren't great. They're slower than Kaplan, don't get nearly as many weapon options (just combi rifles and a spitfire, though everyone has a DEP), and where Kaplan get Mimetism Druze get ARM 3, which isn't much of a bonus over Kaplans ARM 2 and Mimetism. They also have a sole specialist, who isn't particularly good at what he does, the Hacker.

Their main strength is that every model has an X-Visor, pushing their threat bubble out a bit. But that threat bubble is really just combi rifles anyway.

But, as usual, this is Infinity. Taking them over Kaplan isn't going to lose you the game, though it may notch up the difficulty for you.

Hmm good info. They don't look as cool to me anyway. Still, I may consider them in the future since they do still look cool to some degree.

Given how promising ice storm looks that's probably their first allied group, then maybe a QK starter.
