I need to start archiving gems like this for when the next Republican administration takes office.

I'll remind you that Akin lost his race. I'll also remind you that the exact same sentiment can be applied toward Democrats who oppose the Republicans.

Might as well include all politicians. Except Dakka OT has a tendency to focus on Republicans dumb comments. Democrats are pretty much not touched. I can reach back 30+ years on stupid comments of all politicians and POTUS
Edit
Another good one
My favorite though
The one that made me really disappointed Think everyone knows my stance on this

I don't know if we can call Bush's "right hand and left hand" statement stupid because we don't know if he's talking from his left and right or the audience's left and right.

And most likely, he doesn't know either.

Well... if it's a Democrat, most publications bury party affiliation as far away from the title or first paragraph. But, if it's a Republican, that information is smeared all over the place.

Eh, any headline that discusses comments made by a "lawmaker" are basically just focused on getting hits. If the statement was made by anybody important, there would be a more specific title.
though, you could argue that the #2 senator in the Kentucky State house is something, I generally don't get too impressed by State legislators. Federal bias, I suppose.
