Would you find it weird if they were all dressed as redcoats and re-enacting the Battle of Isandlwana? Ultimately, all that changes is the fandom.

Yeah, I get that, of course. And I would think the redcoat thing was cool, though I'd be curious as to who they'd get to play the 'other guys'! The fella in that other pic? I don't think that's cool. I think it's weird. But y'know what? Good luck to him. He's not hurting anyone.

I think it's possible to tolerate and accept something without having to actually like it. I personally wish we were more open about things like that.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

I would like to Cosplay, but there isn't a place to do it where I live.

A friend of mine was gonna go as Link, myself as Dark Link, his girlfriend as Zelda, and we were going to go looking for Ganondorf.

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Redcoat/anime character/comic book character - they're ALL weird to me.

Now, those lads and ladettes in the 501st, RL and MMCC are fine, upstanding people. Who raise money for charity and cheer up sick kids, and to them, it's not just about getting the baps out and on display.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I cosplayed a bit when I was in High School & College, and still have a few of them in the back of my closet.

Last time was about 8-9ish years ago as Haruhi Suzumiya.

Always interested me, never been a thing I've actually done. I am skilled at many forms of creating things and engineering, but costume design is not a thing I have ever been good at (or know a dang thing about for that matter). About the closest I have come was getting a list of places to buy supplies for a super awesome Fremen costume I was going to wear for Halloween back when I was still in college and had an excuse to wear my costume around all day. Had the suit planned out from motorcycle gear, robes sourced, accessories (Kriss knife and various other trinkets), even figured out how to rig a working camel pack and respirator plugs. Then I discovered how much the Dune style blue eye contacts cost and gave up.

In summary: always been vaguely interested, will most likely not be pursuing.

I want to, but not until I'm one of those shredded guys that stands out in the crowd cosplaying as some shirtless character.

Went as Cassidy from Preacher - with a couple of buddies as Jesse and Tulip - to Comic Con this year.

Had a few people pull us aside for pictures, with the relative joy of knowing that the ones who did were actual comics nerds and not just bandwagoners since it hasn't been made into a movie or video game or anything. Aside from that it's all Halloween for me ...
