And this is exactly what I feel we (Tyranids) have lost since 5th ed - close combat power.
Yeah, he is used more for board control and area (objective) denial. The problem is, for a Fast Attack unit, he is so slow that most mobile shooty armies (i.e. Tau and Eldar) can just shoot him off the table and still go for the objectives on Turns 4-5. Then again, 2 out of the 3 games that I have used him in were against Tau (and the 3rd being against assaulty Space Wolves).
He would have been perfect if he had wraithknight mobility.
Le sigh....
But when it comes to combat, he is a pure bad-ass. Just that alone is reason enough for me to run 1 or 2 in my lists.
