Thought I would as some updates with the formation and the dataslate with gerantius.
Spoiler:
Well, starting with the adamantine lance. For no points and three knights that you will already likely be taking. You can use a formation to get free invulnerable re-rolls. Positives to that is the ability to be more durable, especially in tha first turn. Rarely will you continue to be within three inches of all three after that first turn as you spread out to take aim and charge various units. That first turn however is when the drop pods with melta are coming in. Or staying together when expecting a large number of fliers to arrive turn two. This will formation will work particularly well if you favor the overwhelming thrust up the center of an enemy force. If you prefer the tactic of separating out your force to spread out your opponent then not so much.
The downsides to adamantine lance are almost as many as there are positives. Mny tournents will not allow you to take a formation as your primary force. They expect you to have at a CAD primary. You could take them as a super powerful ally, but now your smaller force that fills n the knight gaps has to spread out its points to more troops and likely a heartier hq as he will be your warlord. You also cannot currently use the adamantine lance with forge world models. If you are already taking three codex knights, why not, but if you want the flexability and unique bonuses of the forge world knights the adamantine lance becomes hard to fit in I don't believe there is a way to get six knights in a 2000 point or less army.
Now on to gerantius. This guy seems like a beast. For 130 points more then your average errant you get a guaranteed seneschel with it will not die. The re-rolling 1's on the stomp table is another useful bonus. However this is taking 130 points away from your allies or additional knights. I would use the errant at 2000 points, and would consider him at 1850 if I were planning on running the adamantine lance. Teamed up with a pair of paladins pushing up the middle of a board, one paladin as your warlord you get two seneschels with 3++ re-rolling saves, while your third knight holds up the point of attack.
I would not be teaming gerantius up with the expensive forge world models as those extra points quickly as up and cut down the amoun of support your knights get. I saw it pointed out that gerantius works perfectly points wise with four paladins in a 2000 point game. While a powerful army it doesn't have any anti air at all. Over all I like the characterization for the codex. I really wish that they had taken just a skittle more time to make up a handful of models that could give the base codex some more depth.
