Aww man I feel like that Chaplain was a missed opportunity to work in some Imperial Fist iconography and colors, whether by making the kneepads or shouldpads yellow or something. He looks freakin' great though. He'd fit right in my pre-heresy Dark Angels I'm eventually going to get around to having more than two minis for.

Chappie looks good, I would go a bit lighter on the bone on the chest though, just to differentiate from the parchment on his legs as they blend together a bit at the moment.

I agree with SRS, so colors on the pad and knees would really set him off. If you want one for BA you'll just have to suffer through another.

Bounding Ultramarine Assault Trooper

Just wanted to say...WOW!!! I helped my friend paint his Imperial Fists, so I know how hard it is to get a good yellow. WELL DONE.
The Sergeant is fantastic. Great job on the head.
As for battle damage...I am not a huge fan of battle damage on Astartes...when you read the fluff, they take care of their armor like it is a part of their being...seriously...if they have not been in operation for a while, their armor would be polished to a shine! I learned what lapping powder was because of Black Library.
I know that I am in the minority in this, as battle damage and dirt helps to break up the flat surfaces...but, to me, it tends to take away from the heroic qualities of the model. When they are all banged up, they look like us, instead of the warrior gods that they are.
To each their own, I guess. Great job none the less!!!

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...

Thanks guys! I might paint the kneepad yellow.. Stll thinking, and yes Luther that makes sense now that I see that good point. It's the little things.
As far as the battle damage I wanted them to look like their right in the battle when you see them on the tabletop. Or perhaps on a campaign (no time for cleaning up armor when your battling the enemies of the emperor). Also I was considering adding my own fluff. Imperial fists are known for self inflicting pain and suffering. These guys wear their battle scars as Homage. Something like that. You certainly make a good point, even when painting the first space marine I second guessed myself. He looked so good clean that I almost decided to go with that look.
But this is too good
