If dakka is serious about providing a socially safe website that caters for friendly discussion then I would ask all the moderators to both caution and shut down aggressive and insulting attitudes on both sides of ANY arguments, not just the ones that disagree with Dakkas seeming direction of purposefully guiding players away from
GW for whatever reason..
See, from my perspective, part of the problem with your argument here is this:

So you've been a member for all of 4 months with a handful of posts - and now you've decided that you don't like the way this place is run, and can it be changed to meet your standards, please?
That kind of thing rankles me a bit. And I say this as someone who generally avoids the
GW bitching threads, still buys the product (on occasion, though far less these days) and the
40k-specific forums for the most part. It's not that a low post count/new member can't have valuable ideas and thoughts and discussions to share. It's simply that it seems fairly common that new members/low posters start soap box threads to tell everyone else here that we're
doing it wrong, and they're now here to tell us how to do it properly.
Whilst I understand your rankling at perceived presumption on my part, I had an old account for years that I no longer visited because of the way Dakka was heading (still is) I still remember the threads of hate for 5th... So yes I believe my point is still valid.. As I know that reporting insults and trolling didn't achieve much except only in the MOST EXTREMEME and obvious moments.. And yet saying both sides are as bad as each other in terms of violation of Dakka's user agreement got me deleted on more than one occasion (Even having Big Red replying to a locked post complaint with 'I do what I want if you don't like it.. tough'.. even on one occasion on this particular account for suggesting that if members wanted to do away with the "hater" tag they may want to be equally denunciating towards "apologists" tagging... but at least when Insaniak did so he did explain politely that he believed it would exacerbate a current fight, so I left well enough alone due to the respect I've had for his opinions for a few years now...
My attempt to highlight my opinion of a problem is not some 'one man war' nor when I say that I am looking to see the general consensus on Dakka on my opinion from less heard from Dakka member do I insinuate that I am 'testing the water'
I'm not being inflammatory for its own reason or to bump my posts (If I cared I'd probably put some more effort into finding the password to my old account but... I don't care how you perceive me.. only how you perceive my argument... What I'm after is the Easter bunny style hope that Dakka Dakka can hold a much higher ethical ground than
GW by supporting a friendly social atmosphere of the largest Forum of
40k anywhere.. it why I have swallowed my pride put away the 'screw you guys I'm going home' attitude.. because a friendly Dakka is worth the fight... In my belief anyway..
