I no longer believe that GW will do anything with the SOB. They'll let it die a slow death with vague promises that they "haven't been forgotten."
I gave up and sold my SOB army that I've been collecting since 2nd edition.
They'd rather see the SOB fade away than "squat" them.

(Kept the command squad for kicks and giggles though.)

So many poor children losing the faith... our codex is strong, I just don't understand why people who already have collections are selling them off.

But the internet says they're bad, so they MUST be bad!

I love self-styled strong lists with my Sisters.

The Internet doesn't say anything apart from "when do we get them?" and "they're being gotten rid of". To get actual tactical discussion, you have to go to the ONE thread on this forum, or the B&C Sisters subforum.

I'm not a competetive player by any stretch, but I think the Sisters 'dex is middle of the pack with regards to power level. TBH, I'd like to see a skilled player take them to one of the larger tourneys and see just how far he/she could take them.

The real criticism I have is that they're so bland. The digi-dex didn't make them worse from the WD 'dex, it just homogenized them. And the things that could make them a bit more interesting and not so samey, are the things in the 'dex that no one has ever taken because they're just not very good: pengines and repentia spring to mind.

I think if what's currently available on the GW site starts to become "No Longer Available," we'll know their ultimate fate.

I have no problems playing my sister's still and hold my own. I mean they at least are better then Chaos lol. But the fact the digital codex removed the land raider. Other then not getting new models is the only sore spot I have had with them.

It's because it became too frustrating to have my favorite army being completely ignored. If I believed that GW would actually one day do something with them, it would be a different story. It's not about power levels or the ability to win, its the idea that the game does it's best to pretend your faction doesn't exist.
I'd rather play a game that respects its players by not ignoring them for over a decade.
I hope this helps you understand some of our thought processes.
(edit) and they nerfed my two favorite units into uselessness, Pen Engines and Repentia.

Plastic Sisters would so get my money. GW you crazy kid I have $1200 dollars to spend on your product if you ever decide to make something I want to buy!

I too am losing hope in a redo and sadly see GW quietly letting they die. I love my girls and have been playing them since 4th. Recently I took them out for a 7ed league where they did well.

It just gets tiring waiting and waiting watching your army die a little more. We lost a special character and a generic HQ when we got updated to the digital dex. I no longer wait to hear the day they get updated but to see the army quietly removed from the webstore without an explanation. It's not fun having hundreds of dollars tied up in a army that could pulled at any moment.

As for why sisters sell poorly GW only has themselves to blame for that. By not updating their rules (properly in print sold in store) the mini's, having no plastic kits, making them only available online would kill most armies. Look at Dark Eldar, they got a similar treatment for a decade and lo and behold they get updated properly and started to actually sell. It's a self fulfilling prophecy, GW does nothing to invest in them so they sell poorly.

I would play Sisters if a third-party did anything suitable, but there aren't any. I'm very interested in that RagingHeroes thing, but I imagine that'll be a long way off.

After seeing the newer miniature designs, are you really sure about that?

I think I've arrived at a point of "grim acceptance" where not only do I no longer expect the company to properly support this army, but where - based on the new designs for SW, ST and DE - I actually think it would indeed be better to let them fade away. Because this way, at least they would retain their original style, and people would look back and say "do you remember that army" ... rather than having to deal with an army that, whilst sort-of known thanks to being on minimum life support with White Dwarf minidexes and horribly formatted digital-only rules (that slowly butchered their unique core mechanics and trimmed down army list variety), features a range of plastic models that might look nothing like the cool metal minis we know, because someone in the studio decided they need more spikes or whatever to make them "cool", similar to what was going through their heads when they made Murderfang or Space Wolf Santa.

I mean, obviously stylistic preferences are an individual thing, but I do have a feeling that IF they ever decide to redesign their miniatures line, it would move away from what the people who enjoy their current style actually liked about them. Or am I the only one seeing this as a huge risk here?

You are the only one.

Space Marines change slightly with each revision, and they generally look the better for it.

I can't see GW screwing up new Sisters Models, if they ever get around to them. Maybe less fleur de lys, but the'll be athletic women in power armor.

I still play with my Sisters - have a large army and even a Knight painted to match but I haven't bothered with 7th Ed and less and less interested as to what GW will do.

I don't think that they will ever bother updating Sisters so waiting for a good alt range.................

If only GW would update them. I'm a die-hard ork player and I would throw huge amounts of money at them for new sisters.

I am absolutely sure. Apart from a few, their "current" style is fine, especially when it's updating what is actually there rather than making new things. Logan Grimnar himself is just fine, it's the sled that's the problem. Murderfang and the other Dreadnoughts are fine if you like the way Space Wolves look, as long as you remove Murderfang's head and ignore his stupid background and stupid name scheme. This is coming from someone who doesn't like the Space Wolf aesthetic or the "helmet shrine" on Venerable Dreadnoughts (it makes them look like big fat Space Marines, which is also why I don't like Contemptors). The Voidraven isn't great, but it's not awful either. Besides, GW has always made some truly terrible models. A more contemporary example would be the Grey Knights, as the Dreadknight (which looks great without the baby-carrier) being silly doesn't stop the rest of the line, made at the same time, from being quite nice. Draigo is a nice model if the helmet is on. By the same token, the Sisters line isn't ruined by the Dialogus or Penitent Engine.

I would much, much rather they made the "bubblegum explosion" Haruspex rather than scrapping Tyranids forever, or even Mutilators rather than scrapping Chaos Marines. Even if they made some awful new model for the army, I have full confidence that updated Battle Sisters would look good. If the upcoming Sisters of Silence for Forge World's Horus Heresy line look the part enough, I will be definitely purchasing a great many of them to finally make a Sisters army.
