I've decided to go with space wolves
I preferred the model range and the choice in units. Plus I quite like the flying troop transport armour 12 12 12 on a flyer and It can carry 16 models that can assault out of it?! Hell yeah!
I'm gonna have to read the book for a day or two but I'm going for a fairly fast based army. TWC, drop pods, the like .
If you guys could give me a few ideas I'd appreciate it? I really like the idea of the dreads with a 3++ invulnerable in drop pods too. That seems sweet

Well, I can give you a list template I've been working on and it's been a blast (on Vassal at least, still missing a couple of models for 1850 battles that we almost exclusively play). The template is 1300(ish) points. I have two HQ templates, one cheaper, the other more expensive.
HQ:
Thunderwolf WGLB: WC/SS, MB, 2 Fenrisian Wolves - 181
OR
Thunderwolf Lord: Helm of Durfast, WC/PF, 2 Fenrisian Wolves - 256
Troops:
10 GH: 2 Melta guns, 10 CCW - 180
Dedicated Drop Pod: Deathwind Launcher - 50
10 GH: 2 Melta guns, 10 CCW - 180
Dedicated Drop Pod: Deathwind Launcher - 50
5 GH: 5 CCW, Wolf Standard - 105
Dedicated Stormwolf: 2 TLMM - 235
Fast Attack:
Drop Pod - 35
5 TWC: SS/WC (on character), 2 SS, 1 PF (NOT on the SS guys, you need those to tank shots, so they'll die first) - 290
Total:
1306 (WGBL) or 1386 (Wolf Lord) Automatically Appended Next Post: The idea is that the Stormwolf arrives and provides (in addition to the firepower) a 6" range to the Standard, which is measured from the hull, and the Stormwolf is a pretty big model. At one point you can have your entire army have +1 attack.
The TWC with a 2+ tank and a couple of SS are survivable as hell. And they pack a mean punch once they get there.
The GH and their drop pods are there to guide the enemy toward your TWC, they're more there for board control than anything else. Also, horde control.
FA Drop Pod because I don't want to pay for a whole other squad that will arrive T2-4. With 340 points already in reserve, you need to have stuff on the ground T1 so your TWC don't bite the dust quickly.

Thanks for the input , but after reading the book can i ask a few questions?
Do normal Space marines Devastator squads get to split fire?
What makes grey hunters better then tac marines?
Do space marines have access to flying transport like ours?
What are the main differences from play space wolves to normal Space marines? Again im relatively new so excuse any slowed questions :/

Well, I'm a newcomer to Wolves to, but have played vs them as Eldar a lot and my main opponents are regular marines (in my FLGS 80% play some Chapter of vanilla codex), plus I own both codices, so I'll offer some replies, anyone more knowledgeable can fill in the gaps.
1. No, they don't. Not by themselves, anyway.
2. Two special weapons instead of the special/heavy that the tacs get. Also, equipping them with extra CCW is a massive help in assaults and counter-assaults (coupled with counter-attack, this is a really good combo). They have no combat-squad (a big minus for GH), so a combo of heavy/special would be very ineffective. But GH do much better Drop pod assault than tac. While I'd say Tacs work better in Rhinos/Razorbacks.
3. Yes, Storm Raven is one, but it can't be taken as a troop dedicated transport, is more expensive and has much, much less firepower. A big plus for the Wolves here.
Now, you didn't mention them, but the biggest difference is that SM get Centurions and SW get Thunderwolf Cavalry. I'd say equally competitive units with the main difference is that Cents are very poor in assault and are slow, while TWC are ridiculously fast and will kill anything they touch with 5/6 attacks each.
Champions of Fenris supplement offers some very good options for Drop Pod, Terminator and Dreadnought armies.

I think im gonna pick up the fenris supplement , but i'd pic TWC anyday over centurions... modelwise anyway.
So really the only downside is lack of combat squads, but then you get two specials anyway?
