Because the MoT lord is 30 points cheaper and can join a unit with MoT. Which, if you're running a tzeentch army, is rather important, both on the table and fluffwise.

I guess there is also a tiny advantage in there too, in that the MoT lord is better against stuff which is at-initiative S8+.
