They are less resilient, if you factor everything in. AP 2, while common, is not as common as AP 3, especially in close combat (where they have the added bonus of being able to be swept).
The big problem is that their resiliency depends on getting resurrected. Your opponent can deny that with focus fire, or your dice could screw you with a failed morale role. A terminators resiliency is always available no matter what your opponent does. That's why a Lych guard is only "maybe" more resilient then a terminator.
But I don't think terminators are worth it most of the time either. 20 points is the most I like paying for single wound models no matter their save.

Is anyone besides Thorgrim Bloodcrow gonna stick up for the Space Vikings?

They've just.... gotten too silly. If this was a few editions of models ago, sure....

But with WolfWolf McMurderWolf, the hover-chariot being pulled by wolves, half-ton dudes riding wolves... it's just gone from Kinda Silly to Very Silly.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I'd give the vote to Necrons as well. Easy to paint, awesome models, and their battleforce is probably one of the best buys out there. Not a single dud in it. They also have some pretty cool special character. Some units and characters are definately better than others, but with a new codex around the corner, there is possibly a shake up in the near future with regards to that. Probably a new army box, as well, which if it's anything like the ones they've put out for the other armies, will probably be a good buy as well.

Basically, start playing Necrons, like, yesterday.
