More like the difference between a flying squirrel and a pigeon.

To quote a fictional character... "Let's make this fun!"

There was a story in the SM omnibus where a single kroot killed 2-3 marines then ate their gene seed and became a Kroot-startes.

We must all join the Kroot-startes...

Catskills in NYS

Not really. Closer to the difference between a red squirrel and a flying squirrel. They are still very similar, just differing. The tau are really 5 different species, or breeds. We have no idea if intrbreeding will produce viable offspring, or of the genetic structure, so we don't know if it is like different breeds of dogs, or like wolves and dogs.

Homosexuality is the #1 cause of gay marriage.

Yes, indeed. What a terrible piece of cultural imperialism it is for me to say that a country shouldn't murder its own citizens

Sanctuary of worms. - about a squad of firewarriors discovering an ancient temple, with an xenos secret that must be quelled, but can only be accomplished with the aid of an unusual ally. Involves Fire Warriors, Deathwatch, and Tyranids. It's definitely an excellent read!

AND

The patient hunter - a book that actually tells you that the horrendous "TripTide" list is a fluff aspect and not just jerk Tau players. This story is about a pack of riptides against an imperial guard tank battalion, apparently a very early sighting of riptides even within tau ranks. Excellent read as well as another short story.

Both books can be found on iTunes bookstore, but I imagine they're on black library for download as well.

10k+ Tau, Ke'lshan
10k Dark Eldar Kabal of the Flayed skull
1k Scions
