What novels are there that cover the Tau?
Have the tau ever been corrupted by chaos? Nurgle seems like maybe a good candidate. greater good type of argument... More life ya know...

The T'au have literally no connection to the Warp so it seems highly unlikely that Chaos would be able to find a foothold on their Psyches' from which to corrupt them.

Not quite true - the Tau have very little presence in the warp as they are Blunt not Blanks.
They can of course be corrupted physically like any other material object or being.

I don't think there's ever been a clear example of a Tau proper (not Kroot) falling to Chaos, though I think there were a few vague hints that that sword that Farsight was carrying around might have been Chaos in origin (though it might well have been Eldar or Necron tech as well...so who knows? Not like GW is likely to ever tell us).
I'm sure Tau could be physically corrupted by Chaos via plagues from Nurgle or experiments by Fabius Bile or the like. What effect that would have on them mentally/spiritually is a more open question and probably not right to say a lobotomized Tau "fell" to Chaos per se.
Tau supposedly don't have much of a Warp Presence at all and no psykers that I'm aware of (I'm sure there are exceptions) so perhaps that makes them unlikely targets for Chaos to notice or waste their time with.

soooo.... I guess that you really didn't want to spoil it for me because I can't see your spoiler.
Regarding warp corruption. I understand that psychers are more prone to getting warp on their shoes, but it isn't necessary is it?
Plus if you travel through the warp you can become corrupted right? Like a space ship or a rhino.... I was thinking about how unique it would be to field chaos themed tau models. Drones with mouths... ethereal with tentacles... a riptide with leathery wings..... etc

Damocles anthology does a good job of portraying Tau, particularly the 2nd story in it which I'd recommend anyone interested in Tau culture to read.
As for Chaos the only one i know of is Farsight who wields a daemon weapon but i wouldn't say he's corrupted. In the Damocles anthology Shadowsun's battle suit starts picking up daemonic whispers but I haven't read the concluding story yet so don't know how it ends.
I think they can be influenced as anyone can and without an ethereal about there'd be little to stop it so long as there was a way for chaos to manifest itself. But I doubt the Chaos gods would be able to effect them physically.

I still say Farsight's Dawn Blade is a Necron weapon.
We got life-extension; which a pre-necrodermis Necrontyr Lord would LOVE.
Anti-warp shenanigans with how the Daemons avoided the statue it was located in the first place.
However I wouldn't put it past the writers to say it was another Xenos race that made it.

Yeah, tau aren't immune to chaos, but are inherently resistant to corruption. A combination of their psyke and living next to a warp storm for thousands of years. Any possibility for psychic talent is out the window, along with any suseptabilty. Evolution (which tau appear to do at an accelerated rate compared to humans) will sort that out vary quickly.

Ehm, what?
The Tau were already an intelligent species pre-Warp Storm. 6000 years then passed in the outside galaxy and then the Warp Storm passed and you have high-tech Tau.
In 12,000 years, Mankind went from cave-dwelling to space-dwelling. In slightly more than twice that amount of time, they went from cave-dwelling to OMG Star-Ending Power to Rival the Star-Gods!.
That the Tau may have had some outside help, or time-dilation effects within the Warp Storm is a common belief, but even still, 6000 years is plenty time to develop some high-tech stuff.

I'm talking about actual evolution not technological evolution. For example, the air caste had wings with which they could glide on thermals, now they don't. That changed in 6,000 years. That's some pretty darn fast evolution.

Again, Warp Storm.
What was 6,000 years in the rest of the galaxy might have been 600,000 inside it. Or 6 million. Or even 60 million.

I don't know about that. From the way the books read, it seems unlikely.
And they weren't literally inside a warp storm, just behind one. Probebly about the same as some of the planets near the eye of terror, like Cadia.

"Behind one" means that the world they were on was surrounded by a Warp Storm that prevented any other Warp-capable ships from arriving, otherwise the Imperium would have wiped them out to take the world as they had originally planned.
Space is a three-dimensional area. A barrier has to cover a given area in all directions, otherwise you just fly under/over/around it and it ceases to be a problem.

They show up in one of the Ultramarines Novels as the bad chaps who must be killed in the emperors holy name, however you are sort of given a bit of both perspectives and there is a fair bit about an ethereal caste character trying to convert humans to the greater good, if I remember rightly.
I think it's 'Courage and Honour by Graham McNeill', it's one of Uriel Ventris books in the Ultramarines Omnibus.
It may not be exactly what you are looking for but it's a darn good read.

In front of may make more sense. The area they were in had a warp strom in the warp "behind" it. They were not actually in the warp, the warp connected to their area was stormy.

Surely that rules the Necrons out, seeing as how their lack of long life ability is what caused their hatred of the Old Ones.

That was the hexagrammic wards, the same sort of wards the Grey Knights use.
The obvious point against it being Necrontyr however is that the sword is really big.
Given the Chaos temple and the world glittering with warp energy, I believe the world would have to have been home to some society including sorceroers who summoned and bound daemons with help of the hexagrammic wards.

Warp Storms are kind of a dual-dimensional thing, though I am not saying that the Tau entered the Warp physically.
What it does, however, is make it impossible for regular Warp-born traffic to get near the place.... think of it like a hurricane or a whirlpool in the Warp. Ships that would normally fly there now can't (because being space-weather, a Warp-storm is like 10+ LY across) and anything caught inside the region covered is getting rained on like a mofo... except what is being rained on it is Warp Weirdness, which could be anything imaginable, and many things that are not imaginable.

But, yeah, kind of odd.
Not only odd, developing wings is such a lengthy process in evolution and so time consuming I doubt they would even be in the same genus, let alone a sub-species. It took the Dinosaurs about half of their existence as an entire Clade to develop working wings. Sure it takes a lot less time to lose them, but damn. Lends credence to the idea that the Tau were somebody's pet biology project. Probably Vect. Fits his MO.

Well I should say, they were more like a glider, not muscled wings. A thing flap of skin between the arms and body is how I think they described it.
