It has everything to do with it. How many chaos players would buy a helldrake, if they knew it didn't have a 360 vision or how about DA powerfiel generators on techmarines ?
I remember a few FAQs from end of 5th and 6th ed which also were removing units from the good to take list.

But what is most important for GW is that, if FAQs or errata were something you were informed up front, GW stuff would lose its exclusive hobby shine.
It would be as if ferrari had a catalog of Things that are broken in our cars you need to fix after buying.

Ah and to make it more funny, when I change the language to Polish the rules errate is worded in such a way that it seems as if rules about returning stuff/customer service etc.

Actually, it'd be better to see a form of ongoing community/rules support on their site. It'd give more of an impression that they care about their game.

Also, i think your timetable of an faq is optimistic. If they'd released an faq for the january codex by september, i'd say they were moving pretty quickly.
well unless it was like a huge issue like the discovered an entire page was misprinted or something

If I were GW and sold a luxury hobby to people, I wouldn't want to sugest that there maybe something wrong with it.

They're going to find out soon enough.

Better to have the best possible fix in place than to try to pretend that everything is fine.

I'm pretty sure that's GWs motto at this point.

They re-printed several codices with changed rules in the past. I've had several incidents of my codex being different fro my opponent's.

Luckily I'm off the GW carousel of dumb now. Infinity has downloadable rules and a fething Wikki for their game.

GW didn't mean to hit your wallet and I know they love you, baby. I'm sure they won't do it again so it's ok to purchase and make up.

Sorry, I believe in having a physical copy of any rules. It's way too easy to change so called digital codex and such

It's trivial to empty a hardback book of pages, and to print off convincing copies.
All it needs is access to a good quality printer, good paper and a guillotine to trim the edges. Once the book has been scanned, copy and paste the words you want where you want them, and hit 'Print'.

iBooks are fairly difficult to falsify, but .Pub files and similar are easy.

Don't trust paper as being gospel as people have been forging books for centuries.

Also, GW books are printed with errors all the time:
Full-page profiles don't match the summary?
Missing options, which the FAQ fixes...
Etc.
