My last Maelstrom ( I hope the last altogether, as I hate the game mode ) was like this.

The opponent basically won the game by deployment, as he was really lucky with the objective cards ( which is one of the main reasons Maelstorm resembles a certain deadly illness afaic. ) I think he was 7-0 by the 2nd turn. He was playing Chaos, I was on my Necrons of which half arrived from reserves ( mostly making things even worse for me. ) I decided that the only way to win was to table my opponent, and proceeded to just kill everything asfast as I could.

The final game turn hit, and there was 1 Chaos Terminator on the table, and 5 Deathmarks. My 2 Night Scythes flew off the table as they had been spinning around for the whole game and now I couldn´t maneuver them to target the said Terminator anymore. The Deathmarks fire upon him, his armour saves all except 2 shots ( 10 shots total fired ) making me the winner.

Even if the game mode is putrid, it was probably the tightest match I´ve had all year ( 71 games played now. )
