I just bought Imperial Assault myself. (I'm a little late to the party, but there weren't many other threads).

One thing that is really worrying me though.

"Only the Imperial player is allowed to read information in this guide."

That doesn't speak well for the re-playability of the game, in my view. Especially since I'm not likely to play through the whole campaign with the one person and am more likely to play, say, the first 4 missions multiple times...

Was interested in this but day 0 dlc is a big no no for me with video games so I am certainly not going to support it here so sadly I am going to give this a miss.

You never know since they like the way video games are distributed they may be a game of the year edition next Christmas which is an actual full game.

If day one DLC is an issue. I really hope you don't play anything made by GW.

Captain Killhammer McFighterson stared down at the surface of Earth from his high vantage point on the bridge of Starship Facemelter. Something ominous was looming on the surface. He could see a great shadow looming just underneath the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, slowly spreading northward. "That can't be good..." he muttered to himself while rubbing the super manly stubble on his chin with one hand. "But... on the other hand..." he looked at his shiny new bionic murder-arm. "This could be the perfect chance for that promotion." A perfect roundhouse kick slammed the ship's throttle into full gear. Soon orange jets of superheated plasma were visible from the space-windshield as Facemelter reentered the atmosphere at breakneck speed.

I don't see the bitching about "oh noes not all minis in the box". It's a boardgame. I consider minis to be a bonus. Arkham horror is just as fun with cardboard standups as it is with using minis. Also people are saying it doesn't look very fun because it's not scalable as a wargame? It's not meant to be. It's a boardgame. If you want to use the minis as a wargame dl the oop rules & cards for the wotc star wars minis game.

Having played both Doom & mansions of madness with the "players don't read this book" rule it doesn't kill replayability swapping sides.
