If he's insisting on stupid missions (I play 5 Tyranid FMCs, that plays ridiculously well to our strengths), the tailor him hard. How? Trackta cannons or whatever they are. The big guns that make grounding checks at -3. Run a ton of boyz on the ground, making sure he can never put his Flyers close to the guns, and shoot him til he drops, then assault and kill. Tons of Lootas would help too, not sure if those are the same slot s Big Gunz

Thats one of the best ways in the Ork codex to deal with Flying MC's.

I also think the way your playing the game is stupid. Play random missions you roll for. Warhammer isnt about blowing your table off the board, its about playing the mission. I've eaked out TONS of wins in tournaments with my 10% of my army left with my opponent having 80% left, but I played the mission and he didnt and I won. Playing the same mission every time is dumb as you cant use your strengths.

take 2 mobs of 30 shoota boyz, with nob with powerklaw

take 2 painboyz on bikes. they give the units jink [only one model in a unit needs jink for whole unit to benefit] and FnP. Your boyz mobs of 30+1 now have a 4+ cover save and a 5+FnP. Thank me later

Perhaps he'll thank you after you read the rules for Jink.
Spoiler:
If the unit Jinks, all models in the unit with this special rule gain a 4+ cover save

So no, that doesn't work.

thanks for the correction!

Really, may the Flyer Formation help in this case?
Dakkajets seem to be good for taking down flying stuff, the two other planes aim at the grounded targets. Also some lootas/tractors and perhaps bikers, who can chase grounded FMCs or walking Nids.

Traktor Kannons are the way to go. That or some Dakkjets. If you can take down his flyers then you should be able to take him down.

With that amount of stuff you must play at least 2000+ points. Take 2 units of 5 Traktor Kannons and maybe 1-3 Dakkajets.
Take Megaboss with the Killchoppa to kick in the ground creatures teeth, cram in some boyz, maybe some lootas, and some meganobz with Kombi Skorchas to take the Gaunts and you'll be golden
