I don't believe you can one shoot a Stompa. It only take D3 more HP if you get an explodes. In case I failed to make it clear. I am the Stompa. My battle buddy is the BA player. I am trying to help him. We enjoy creating new strategies for each build. Banning LOW is not an option for us. He likes playing Dante.

Its a bloody tough nut to crack, shooting or assault otherwise. Orks having plenty of bodies to spare will be able to bubble wrap against melta and CC. and even if you get into CC you have to deal with the D then the Stomp if you dont remove it and then the D explosion from if it dies.

It is honestly better to deal with the troops and go for the objective win. though its fine to take pot shots at it and kill it on T5-7 if just for the lulz.

We did find that the mission type really matters. The Relic is just about the worst mission for the BA against the Stompa. They stood up much better in an objective mission. I imagine they would struggle in purge the alien though as the points on the board would be in the orks favor.

Treat the Stompa just like you would treat any other deathstar: Engage if you feel confident and have the tools, ignore if else. If you have trouble dealing with the LOW, bear in mind that, not counting the big stompy robot, there's only 700pts worth of orks on that table, a walk in the park for 1500 points of Blood Angels.

Bring extra terrain and over fill the board so that any Super heavy cannot be deployed.

Bear in mind, that any drop pod meltas/DS assult centurions can be easily countered with about... 100-200 points of grots.

Also... PipeAlley, how can you take 10 meks? 1 for each HQ or 3 in a burna/loota squad is all I know of.

Stompas are the most balanced super heavies with basically costing over 1k to set it up with a force field and hull point regen. You can take 2 Knights for every stompa and the only difference is 12 hp compared to 2 6 hp.

I'd also say that the Stompa has quite superior firepower.

Waiting at the Dark Tower steps..

Yeah stompas are awesome LoW I am glad you kicked ass but member to fill that thing with as many mek boyz as possible (a big mek with the "fixer upper" would be great too)

Yeah always good to hear Blood angels getting the trash kicked out of em.

3 per squad of 5 Lootas x 3 plus one per HQ choice. Super-heavy transport rules allow you to put in any amount of units as long as you don't exceed total model count. IN this case, twenty.

Well, I can partially answer your question.
I do not have a stompa, but I do have a blood angels captain in terminator armour, a land speeder typhoon, 5 death company and a terminator squad.
Here's my answer:
Death company would try to take it out and commit suicide at the same time, probably. They would fire their ranged weapons and then swipe their chanswords, power sword and thunder hammer at the stompa.
Land speeders would probably get close enough to fire their weapons (in this case-typhoon missile launchers) and continue to fire their typhoon missile launcher continuously.
Terminators would probably fire their weapons, move, and then fire again if they could. Otherwise they would go to close range and use their powerfists and chainfists.
And the captain in terminator armour: Probably use his thunder hammer and storm bolter and direct his troops.
I forgot to mention my librarian dreadnaught. But let's ignore him...

Bad plan. It takes too many warriors for that to work against 12 hull points (108 shots, assuming no cover).
Harbingers of the Storm (Crypteks upgraded to have 4 haywire shots) in a Night Scythe with 5 warriors is much more viable. 190 points + an Overlord to unlock the Royal Court.
Straight BA army, dropping in meltas is probably your best bet. As many AP 1 shots as possible and hope to roll lots of explodes.
