The necrons lack good horde clearing weapons. Overwhelm them with numbers.

Eh, no. A group of slugga boyz cgetting the charge on a group of necron warriors will lose, I'd put my money on it. And how can we not clear hordes? Monoliths with battle cannons, then large blobs coming out of that with rapid fire weapons, Doomsday Ark, Doom Scythe, Particle Beamers, ext.

Have not seen the Codex but I heard form MWG that they get RP against ID. To me that is just stupid. What is the point of ID if people can ignore it.
Uhm, ID is ignored all the time.
I 'ignore' ID every time I make an armour-save against it.

At least your ID gets a bonus now, you didn't have that in the old Codex.

Does Instant Death or double T weapons deny RP?

No, they just give a -1 modifier to the roll.

Not the same thing. This is more like a FNP ignoring it.

I played my first game against the Newcrons on Sunday. He didn't play the most competitive I don't think. He expected me to bring a lot of infantry, but I didn't do that. We played 2k Crons vs Orks. He had a lot of Destroyers, a Nightbringer, Scythe with Overlord and Destroyer Lord with Immortals, a squad of tomb blades, and two Arks full of Warriors.

I brought two detachments so I could play my Walker list. 6 Kill Kanz, 2 Deff Dreads, Morkanaught, Trukk with Tankbustas, a Defense Line with some shoota boyz and a Shokk Attack Mek behind it, two squads of 25 Slugga Boyz each with a Mega Boss and Painboy who I foot slogged and 2 squads of 10 gretchen who hung out back field.

We played Maelstrom, and I wont 7 to 1. Needless to say, the Necrons were very, very mobile. Able to basically kite everything I had with their jump moves after shooting. But it just didn't matter much. It took 3 squads of Destroyers till turn 5 to actually eliminate the squad of Kanz. My two Deff Dreads took out the Nightbringer, who only immobilized one of them and brought that same dread down 2 HP. The unharmed dread then moved on to burn several Warriors in their Ark that got too close before charging and tearing it open. The two blobs of boyz just kept moving up and holding objectives mid field and further back as needed, as his Necrons had no choice but to keep moving back, or risk being over run. Mega Boss with Stikk tanked the entire game for one squad, while the other got wittled down to about half way, though they refused to break due to the Mega Boss having the Big Bosspole granted by their detachment. Grots sat out back, holding the two backfield objectives, while the shokk attack gun landed two vortex shots on his backfield over the course of the game, killing some dudes, while the Shoota Boyz acted as obligatory wounds.

The match was pretty one sided. WHile he didn't lose nearly as much as I did in the end, he just COULDNT force me off objectives and couldn't risk rushing to steal them, or else be over run.

Newcrons are DURABLE. I killed so very few, it's insanity. BUT, that durability doesn't mean much when they aren't really KILLING all that much. Even the wound/glance on 6 rule isn't enough for them when spamming Gauss.

This is, of course, anecdotal. It was only one game, so it can't be the be all results. But it did give me an idea of how they fare as of right now against my Orks. At least until he brings Wraiths which may prove to slow me down a little, or at least provide a bit of a challenge in CC for me.

I don't think Orks or Demons are in trouble with the NewCrons. Eldar and Tau are in trouble though.

Das cuz Orks are da best! I was a little worried though all in all, in part due to the doom saying the forum has been kinda shelling out like candy, But facing them has quelled a lot of my worries. I'm still interested in fighting some Wraiths though, see how they fare. I know my blob of 25 Boys did have a hell of a time against the Immortals. If it wasn't for Big Bosspole, I might have lost the squad. They don't win by a lot, usually only killing a dude or two without the help of an HQ, but because they can save so many wounds...it's just silly :p

Well the necron codex does allow any Overlord or Lord to spam gauntlet of flame on top of a war scythe, so the codex does have the ability to fight orks.

They have the ability to fight Orks even without flamers. The massed vollies of Gauss they can send out, especially with Ghost Arks is quite insane. And I have a feeling they will win CC most of the time without a Warboss with Lucky Stikk to really ensure they get wounds through, because RP is so darn good. You need to cut out the amount of saves, and only the PKs will cut out their armor save. Necrons just don't wanna die!
