I feel I got a deeper appreciation of this reading the WIP thread. The structure's roots in Gothic architecture had been clear, but the idea of humanity's perversion of the arts, science, religion, makes all the parts that one would not normally consider aesthetically pleasing (the chains, the bionic implants, the tubes, the ancient historical figures on top piled upon each other, with one emerging from another's arm) profoundly symbolic to me of the dark, backwards, superstitious mood of the 41st millennium. This project cannot possibly merit further props than it already does.

Your logical description behind it is telling, but even then cannot capture all that in entails.

Can anyone explain this to me? The man sitting there is hardly human, he's even painted as a corroded metal structure, with cables and pipes hanging from his legs, the scale and the doors underneath the structure makes me believe that the emperor would be smaller, underneath, and inside the building. I'm very confused, none of the comments clarify the matter, and I've seen depictions of the golden throne, none of which match. Can anyone help me out?

It is not a literal take on the Golden Throne as we typically think of it, it is more an artistic summary of the theme of the 40k universe as a whole. Or in other words, totally awesome.

I think it's up to the imagination of the viewer to a degree. But i'm going with those big doors at the bottom - somewhere inside that massive structure sits the corpse Emperor himself.

For such an amazing piece I was pretty sad to see so little work put in (barely any at all) in masking the CPU and other PC chassi fans as well as the motherboard.
An easy addition of some plasticard, punched out rivets and cabling would've hid it's origin very well.

Apart from that.... Wow... just WOW.

A leg aint going to cut it. If you look at the first picture it says its 8 foot tall!
