2*2 koptas more often than not work better than 1 unit of 4. You still have to pass ld without mob rule benefits if you loose one. They're a bit easier to eraze but provide greater board controle and are invaluable for maelstorm and eating overwatch. For example, when you want to charge something with fierce overwatch - tau gunline or wraithguard squad with scythes - it doesn't really matter if there are 2 or 4. All will die anywayz. Up to you ofc.
Choppaboyz can do without special weapons - i'd even say that it's a rare day when they get to use them, actually.
As mentioned before, Deff dread could do without grot riggers. 5+ IWND is not a must-have. Can be handy from time to time but it's usefullness is questionable when you got to pay actual points for it and when you have serious chances to just get exploded or immobilized. Also, a deff dread got to buy 2 extra weapons and not 1 iirc. However, i'm not sure on this.
Greentide is great but 1500 pts is a bit too low for it. It still needs solid support to function propely
While it provides crazy good bonuses liek every turn waaagh and the fact that it's a helhuge squad that benefits from fnp and big bosspole fearless, the same thing that makes it work also hinders it. It's a helfuge squad! If you run into an invisible unit, it's gona tarpit you half the game. You'll have problems controling more than one flag.
GT is not a win-win. It has enormous benefits but also has it's own huge drawbacks. And you won't have place for walkers in there
Anywayz, i suggest you to try both! GT is sturdier, scarier and has better threat range across the game due to every turn WAAAGH! But has it's flaws - namely, problems with tarpitters and some psy-powers. Oldschool greentide with lots of numerous squads has more moving parts, is weaker in the raw power overall but provides more tactical possibilities. Is not weak to tarpitters as you're loosing just a part of your forces instead of >50% in one go. Doesn't have problems controlling multiple flags at the same time.

In a GT, does each unit of boys still have to maintain Unit Coherence with the other units (since it all counts as one unit), or is each unit still set to itself, they're just all covered under one Warboss? Does that question make sense? Like, does Unit 1 have to maintain Coherence with Unit 2, or can they be apart?

Its just one unit. Models don't need to stick with their old unit.

The dread has two...A Rokkit Launcha and a Big Shoots (which I may replace with another Rokkit), it just didn't come over from Quartermaster for some reason. I got rid of the riggers, and rokkit from Choppers. I got a Lil Mek to go with the Warboss and possibly repair the toyz. Is this any closer to a complete list?
Warboss: Da Lucky Stikk; shoota; power klaw; 'eavy armour; bosspole 119
• Mek: kustom mega-blasta 20
Painboy 50
30 Boyz: Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 220
20 Boyz: shootas; rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 185
20 Boyz: shootas; rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 185
20 Boyz: shootas; rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 185
Blitza-bommer 135
2 Deffkoptas: 2× twin-linked rokkit launcha 60
2 Deffkoptas: 2× twin-linked rokkit launcha 60
Deff Dread: rokkit launcha 80
4 Killa Kans: 4× rokkit launcha 200

I'd avoid KMB on a mek. You don't want your challenge-eater to die to an overheat when he's needed the most

Better off as a kombi-rokkit, or should I just go slugga? Not sure what to throw those 5 pts to if I go slugga. Also, thank you everyone for helping me with this. By the time I have this all set up, something tells me this list will be right killy.

I'd suggest looking into a ranged support direction, actually. Big gunz are amazing.

I guess I could drop the Blitza, throw the Painboy, and two units of the 20 shootas into a new CAD, and spend the Blitza-bommer points on a 5x Mek Guns (3 Lobbas and 2 Traktor Kannons) unit. I just wouldn't have any flyers.

Lobbas can't fire at fliers. If you take two CADS why not go ahead and separate the two types of battery?

As far as Fearless, would it be better to drop the Stikk and take the Big Boss pole? Either way, the DLS and BBP would only affect the 30 boy unit.
-----
Just realised if I move the Painboy and 2 units, I would be one unit short of the Ork Horde Detachment.

To take BBP you'll need Ghazzy detachment with 1 mandatory Elite slot. And with their own artifacts.
DLS is amazing for it's price - don't pass it.

If I don't take an Ork Detachment, and instead take the generic CAD, I couldn't reroll on the Ork Warlord trait (does that mean I don't get an Ork Warlord trait, or does it mean I simply can't reroll it?), BUT, would my units gain Objective Secured because I chose the CAD from the Core Rulebook? Are you required to choose from the Detachment listed in your codex?

You can take a CAD instead of the Ork detachment and as long as you fulfill the constraints of the CAD your troops will have Objective Secured. With a CAD, IIRC, you can choose whether to roll for your warlord traits from either the rule book tables or the table in the Ork codex and would be able to re-roll it either way.

Sold! That way both of my CAD's are legal. Since that's the case, here is list number...what...72?
Primary Detachment:
Warboss: Da Lucky Stikk; shoota; power klaw; 'eavy armour; bosspole 119
• Mek: kombi-weapon with rokkit launcha 20
30 Boyz: rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 225
20 Boyz: shootas; rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 185
2 Deffkoptas: 2× twin-linked rokkit launcha 60
2 Deffkoptas: 2× twin-linked rokkit launcha 60
Deff Dread: 2× rokkit launcha 80
4 Killa Kans: 4× rokkit launcha 200
CAD:
Painboy 50
20 Boyz: shootas; rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 185
20 Boyz: shootas; rokkit launcha; Boss Nob (shoota; power klaw; bosspole) 185
2 Mek Gunz: lobba; traktor kannon; + 4× Gretchin 48
2 Mek Gunz: lobba; traktor kannon; + 4× Gretchin 48
1 Mek Gun: smasha gun; + 2× Gretchin 30
1,495 points
I know the mixed mek gun units are kind of weird. My plan is Smash gun in the middle, Lobbas on either side of it, and traktors on either side of the lobba's. These will go behind the mob of 30 choppa boys. The kanz and dread will go in front, and the other units of boys will go...somewhere...not sure yet. Painboy will join up with the Warboss in the 30 boy unit.

Burnas x5:
-2x Mek: KMB

Morkanaut: KFF, Riggers ( Burnas go here)
Kans x6: 3x KMB, 3x Rokkits
Flash Gitz x8:

I line up Kans towards the middle with boys behind with Mek covering most of the Kans if not all. I stagger them having the Rokkits in front so the AP2 KM' survive longer. The Morkanaut covering the Gitz and hopefully a Kan or 2 depending on terrain and what not. Koptas to try to get first blood on rhino or other tank keeping out of charge range hopefully. It works pretty well. Marines I have destroyed a lot with this list. Eldar give me troubles and the new Necrons give me trouble. Other then that not a bad little list. Up it to 2K I add in 5 Manz in a trukk and add two Dread w 4xDCCW, Riggers.
Your list seems like it would be a lot of fun and quite strong. How much do your games vary with it? Do you have to use the same tactics every time?
If I had the flash gitz 3 more kans and an orkanaut I would love to try this out.

It is a lot of fun. My tactics, Ork tactics is general are pretty simple move, shoot and assault. With this edition I have started assaulting more then I have in the past. I ran Shooty Orks only, all through 6th. It would have been weird to see me actually charge. But 7th I have come to like trying to get the long charges off with the Orks.
I anchor the Gitz sometimes on an objective, especially if it happens to be reroll 1's. Or I have them move up with the Morkanaut getting cover from its KFF.
As far as strong, again its Orks. If I have a good day with my rolls its going to be a bad day for the enemy. But that can be said for any army I guess.
I think the list is good and I really enjoy playing it. Mind you I am not a super competitive person, nor is the group I play in. I might not be good in a tourney setting. But luckily I don't fool with that anymore.
Cheers!

That's awesome. The people I game with aren't really competitive and I didn't start Orks to win tournaments.
Did you buy two boxes of flash gitz or did you convert some Nobs?

I also have the option to drop the Lobba's, making my Mek Guns into 2x Smasha's and 1 Traktor. This would allow me to take an extra Kan. Would it be better to have 5 Kanz, or should I stick with the 5 Mek Guns? An extra Kan would help with The Cowardly Grots, but is a can better than two Mek Guns? I'm betting not.
