I have used cypher to infiltrate 50 guardsmen with 5 LC and 5 meltaguns. I never really bothered with the power weapons as i wait for the enemy to assault me, overwatch, take one round of combat then use cypher to hit and run out (now tell me the guardsmen are out of range :-p).
Since IC's can't start with the unit i put a ccs in a chimera with a priest and psyker and run it up behind the squad. i stagger the troops back so that the unit can be joined by the IC's
