Boba Fett with PTL, Recon Spec and Engine Upgrade is 49 points. Xizor, VI, Auto, Virago, Adv Sensors is 38. That's 87. Add a Binyare Pirate for Xizor to pawn off hits on and you still have 1 point to take Inertial Dampeners if you really like it.

Congratulations, you just made a weaker version of Dash/Corran or RAC/Fel.

And it doesn't work like that. A good player is rarely going to shoot at Xizor when he has a meatshield available because all you've really done in that situation is give a z-95 an extra green die and potentially autothrusters. Instead you kill the z-95 directly and only deal with Xizor once the meatshields are gone.

Yes, but what I'm addressing is the idea some people have that Xizor will tank a ton of damage directly. The scenario they have in mind is their opponent shoots everything at Xizor, his green dice and autothrusters reduce it to a single point of damage at most, and then a cheap z-95 takes that one damage. But in reality they're not going to shoot at Xizor at all unless there's no other target, they're going to go directly for those z-95s and y-wings with their much lower damage reduction and wipe them off the table before dealing with Xizor. So, while Xizor's ability does have a lot of value* in getting people to save him for last, it doesn't actually reduce the incoming damage you're taking.

*Or at least it would if "get Xizor to endgame and then win" wasn't such a bad strategy against an unknown opponent.

So, instead of spamming another question thread, I'm adding to my old one... just got a ton of x-wing stuff in a trade.

I'm now looking at
4 x-wings (incl single and rebel transport)
1 said rebel transport
2 YT 1300's
1 YT 2400
a-wing
rebel aces

6 TIEs incl. single
3 interceptors (single + aces)
2 firesprays
1 decimator
1 lambda
1 advanced
1 phantom
1 defender

S & V
2 aggressors
2 vipers

So... a few questions--

1- what's a proton bomb? I'm seeing the upgrade, but it's not listed with the bomb rules or the bomb types
2- what holes are there that I should really look at? Particularly in Scum, since they're my favorite aesthetic.
3- which doubles do I really not need? Is it because they're only good very narrow builds, or because you just never want more than one?
4- is there anywhere to find the scenarios that came with models? I enjoy scenario play as a change of pace, but most of what I traded didn't come with them.

Oh, I forgot- what type of action is dropping a bomb? It just says it isn't a secondary weapon, but I couldn't find it listed what type of action it is (does it replace your action or attack, or if it's in addition then when is it used?)

It will say on the upgrade card. You drop Proton Bombs after revealing your maneuver dial. So it doesn't replace your attack or your action. Proximity Mines are dropped as an action, by contrast.

Thanks, re: timing. Guess I overlooked that since I assumed they'd have the same timing so expected they'd be on the bomb rules, not the upgrades.

Still confused on the proton bomb, though- are the affects of its detonation somewhere I'm not seeing?

Ships that come with Proton Bombs come with a card that describes it:
