With the army moving forwards really fast, the cultists can hold down the fort (more like cowering in terrain). I see them more as objective grabbers on my side. The added bonus of a blood point when they die, and they can become bloodthirsters if I want.
Quick question, if a cultist champ dies to become a thirster, do I get a blood point for the character dying?
I can look into another hound unit. I think a 20 man hound unit is really unwieldy, though it will probably get to where it wants to go.

The character dying thing is a bit of an issue. The rule as it stands is yeah you get a blood point if a character dies.
But it is obviously a typo with the intent that you only get the bonus point in a challenge and has been publicly achknowledged as such by its author.) So... Play that way if you want.. I'm not keen on taking advantage of mistakes and it'll get faq'd (if we ever get more faqs)

@Captyn_Bob: Has it been acknowledged by the author!? I didn't know that. I mean I thought it made more sense that the Blood Point was rewarded only by challenges, but I just didn't think that the authors would make such grammatical mistakes - isn't English their primary language?

To me the Chaos Space Marines needed to be characterised as a threat reaching back to the Imperium's past, a threat which had refused to lie down and become part of history. This is in part why the gods of Chaos are less pivotal in Codex Chaos; we felt that the motivations of Chaos Space Marines should remain their own, no matter how debased and vile. Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose. |

Well someone claiming to be the author on facebook. They don't have credits in the book now so no idea if its true, but its clearly a mistake.
But rules are rules.

Well That would change things a little bit if that was really comfirmed. I wish GW was faster at updating the FAQ. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok here is a though...How would you guys thing skarbrand would fair? He gives everyone around him rage and FC(correct me if wrong) so that is something you wont need to spend blood points.
He also is extremely good in CC , and can kill most in a challenge before they can touch him.

Just spotted something in Wrath of Baal.
The fighter ace upgrade (35 pts)can be applied to 'other' factions, with the following effects for FMCs and flyers
1-2 +1bs
3-4 + 1 cover save max 3+
5-6 fearless aura 12"
I can see some applications for this. fearless is great on everything if you are running mostly mortals. A hadesdrake would benefit from all of them. a 3+ jink on a thirster would rock.
Probably not worth the points, but its another option to consider.

The chaos daemon one does look a lot better, and perfect for an allied belakor
1-2 reroll to wound and armour pen for vector strike
3-4 +1 wound
5-6 +1 invulnerable.
