Any Khorne army so undisciplined would never be able to reach the enemy in the first place. While the Space Marine interactions were interesting that army should not be viewed as the norm even for Khornate armies.

We are talking about Orks. Undisciplined is their speciality.

I've always liked the thought of and Ork boss being possessed by Khorne, who then proceeds to tell his warband to kill even more.

The difference is, if orks devolve into infighting most of them are either tough enough to weather some good-natured brawls with their own, those who aren't probably wouldn't have done much anyways, the violence will release ork spores which will eventually more than replace infighting casualties, and once the warboss calls a Waaaagh! the orks will immediately take their violent energy and release it on whoever's in the horde's way. Plus the warboss has enough influence to keep infighting to a minimum and if the orks are stormboyz then they're bound to be disciplined.

Ahem, if nob is present, they infight. They need a Big'un to keep them from doing that.

Or they just need a sufficiently exciting target to be unified against. Orks don't naturally infight when they're faced with a Tyranid swarm, or a regiment of imperial guard tanks charging them.

That's kind of my point. The same would be similar with Khorne worshipping armies. They wouldn't destroy each other just because the enemy is five minutes away. If they did they'd never be able to form an army in the first place. They have gladiator matches etc but they wouldn't be annihilating themselves because the enemy withdraws.

Not when another enemy is present and even when they do it's not infighting to the point of destroying the entire army.

I think a big high point that a lot of people miss is that Ork's don't always fall to pride. They fight just cause they love to fight. Or they win by dirtyhanded cunning, cause they love to fight. They never stop and think they're better than the others, they just wonder about who they have to take out next. This makes them immune to thoughts about their own prowess, unlike the rest of mortals with their pride. This makes them both perfect for Khorne, yet uncorruptable. They have no sense of rage, because they are essentially in a state of perpetual motion. They don't find glee in it. It's just what they do. Humans find great release in the death of their foes. Martial pride is what Khorne spawned from. Blood! DEATH! MURDER! Orcs don't even think about it that deeply. They're just doing what they do.

Let me edit this to say that some Orks DO become extremely blood thirsty. It is rare for an entire ork force to become so obsessed with the kill that they would draw such attention. Chaos Orks DO exist, but generally they are doing what comes natural to them, so they're nothing more to Khorne than would be a lion eating a gazelle. When you start killing just for the thrill of the kill, that's when you stop worshiping Gork and step off into chaos territory. Kinda odd you don't see Slaanesh orks once in a million, actually. I guess they don't bother with pain and just kill outright, though. So what have ya? Haha!
