Oh yes I assumed that you either mentioned running one unit of them and single ones by themselves. And I ultimately see your points. The only thing about running the solo ones is that as I've played against my buddies nids with my guard I am able to drop his Zoe's pretty easily so if I only had some scattered around I feel like I would lose them. Especially since my buddy has a couple lone destroyers in his necron army that would just try and pick off the Zoans.

As I build the force up I will probably get one zoan brood to start with and see how they play out and how well the neurothrope does. And if I don't need another squad then I will scratch them and go for the pods. The pod idea is nice because essentially if the both come in then on turn 2 I should have 2 flyrants, a crone, 2 pods and 2 carnifexs in my opponents face. With gaunts, zoans and venomthrope moving up and the living artillery node in the back firing away.

Are the rippers deepstriking? as that's a nice option for maelstrom missions. I'm actually considering taking just them as my obsec troops choices - they plop in and take objectives, probably eat themselves but give you VP's...

Yes! They do have that upgrade, so if it isn't listed it should be lol. But yes that's their goal, just grab objectives and sit there all game lol

The nice thing is that rippers can't actually completely kill themselves from Instinctive Behaviors. At the worst, they'll reduce the swarm to one model and then they won't feed anymore.

Exactly! With how small their profile is unless they are out in the open they will probably be hidden at most times eating themselves. Any other recommendations anyone has???
