I recently grabbed a few Squats to drop into my IG Vets squad. I now have a Bomb-Squat in the bomb-squad.

As for older-style models in general, they can add a lot of character to an army.
Beastmen as IG conscipts?
Squats as specialists?
Metal RT-era Space Marines as veterans? How old and revered must that armour be, to look so odd?
Even old SM and IG vehicles? With some of the forgeworlds being cut off for a long time, they won't have had their STCs updated since the Fall.
