I hope that golem get back to you soon, knowing tommy from my gw days I'm sure he wont be happy hearing you were dissatisfied with the commission. It does seem very unlike golem who I always thought of as one of the good guys for commission painting.

Got a reply back saying they would fix the transfers or that I could fix the transfers myself and get around a 25% refund. Still deciding what to do. The issue I'm having is that the person who delt with my commission has now left Golem but he has been asked to handle it because he knows whats going on. But he isn't in the studio and can't comment on what they painters will do and how long it will take for my issues to be fixed. I don't want to be losing my models again for another few months.

The other issues I brought up about some models have slops and that there is not much difference between their levels weren't really commented on. I was told that they'd have to be seen in person for that to be judged.

I did get a quick reply though and they were very polite.

A 25% refund on what was not an inconsiderable amount of money paid is something atleast, but ultimately it comes down to whether or not you are confident you could fix them yourself at that point. Paying 75% of a crappy job still leaves it a crappy job, especially if you cant field the army with pride knowing that the decals are wonky/peelingaway/poorly applied. Sending it back obviously has its own issues (no guarantee of quality second time around, wait time, potential for models to get lost or damaged) but seems the only way to ultimately end up with what you wanted. A fully painted army you can be proud of fielding.

They look very poor to me, I get the feeling that the painter had no love for his job which is sad.

The decals are appalling, the painters ability to paint within the lines is quite bad. The paint looks too thick in places on the legs. The highlights look very luck luster as well. The terminators don't seem to be that much of an improvement over the marines.

It very much looks like a case of slap on some red and then a wash in most places :(
What makes it worse is where they have painted over the original numerals but haven't used the wash which leaves a different shade of red.

I wouldn't have been happy with this service considering other minis I've seen come out of the studio which have been outstanding.

The problem I see now if the painter has left is one would you trust Golem to give them to a guy they no longer employ to fix? The problem anyone else would have in fixing them is matching the red.

And the test model looked really nice.
