This formation really works well with a centurion star build. Tiggy 2+ rerollable manifestation rolls means you will rarely need to roll more than the minimum number of dice. Heck he has an 82% chance to manifest a warp charge 3 power on 3 dice. That is extremely powerful and very likely to make a very scary deathstar.

BTW it also became easier to take tiggy with other chapters as your CAD as the libby conclave can be a different chapter than your CAD.

Tiggy roll on tele, other 2 libs roll on divination and bio. Imagine a draigo star with prescience, invisibility, and endurance and plus hammerhand and force.

The other libs can roll for summoning right? That would just be... really, really bad

I'm thinking about complementing it with my tzeentch daemon list. It'll free up a lot of WCs, so that fateweaver and heralds can concentrate more WC for offensive spells and buffs.

Me personally I prefer to use the conclave to buff a single unit into the stratosphere. I ran something like that in a game yesterday where i ran just a Strike Force Command and a conclave

Chapter Master
x7 Honor Guard

x3 Lvl 2, 1 TDA/SS

I got Forewarning on my Divination dude and Endurance on my Biomancy one, smoked a mostly deathwing army with my almost entirely 2+ 4++ 4+++ deathball.

If that's literally all your list was, then it was illegal.. Strike Force command doesn't have a dataslate, so it can't be taken outside of the Gladius detachment.

I'm loving the looks of the Librarian Conclave for my Centstar.

Conclave with Tiggy, and 2-3 Libbys

Either IH or IF Smashfather with 5 Centurions

Tiggy rolls on Telepathy for Invisibility, then the other librarians roll on what's needed. Telepathy in case Tiggy failed, Sanctic for GoI, Divination, or Biomancy.

You keep your majority T5 and have a beatstick with the Chapter Master.

It would just be Unbound, but not Illegal.

Oh, true. I forgot that, without a data slate, Strike Force Command isn't gaining any benefit. For some reason I thought they were getting something from SFC... ignore me!

Remember if models with different chapter tactics are in the same unit they all lose chapter tactics

Also I believe ace was just talking about that specific unit in his army, not that it was his whole army.

The conclave is incredible for centstar but I'm still judging if it'll be worth it in an 1850 point list since it's just funneling more points into the star and taking away from other threats. Seems to only be worth it if you expect to play against other psyker heavy armies

I usually ran my Centstar with a Nemesis Strike Force for a GK Libby rolling on Sanctic and Draigo for GoI. Now that you can get those powers through the Conclave I will prob drop the Strike Force and add the conclave and still come out with more points for some added tows elsewhere in my list

Well draigo is guarantee Gate, if you run only conclave you risk not having it since Tiggy needs to get invis as a must.

Now you don't really need gate, but you need to bring something to give the unit hit and run in order get out of a tarpit

Spend the saved points on a bunker w/ Escape Hatch so they still get to be up the field, and protected from a turn one strike?

Though, the Nemesis Dreadknights from the Nemesis Strike Force are nice...

EDIT: Example 1850 List:

Spoiler:

ULTRAMARINES CAD:

Telion - 50

Scout Squad - Sniper Rifles - 60

Scout Squad - Bolt Pistol/CCW - 55

Centurion Squad - 4x Grav Cannon + Amp, Missile Launcher, Sergeant w/ Omniscope - 370

Thunderfire Cannon - 100

Imperial Bunker w/ Escape Hatch - 80

SKYHAMMER ANNIHILATION FORCE:

Assault Squad - 5men, 2x Flamer - 95

Assault Squad - 5men, 2x Flamer - 95

Devastator Squad - 10 Men, 4 Grav Cannon + Grav Amp, Sergeant w/ Combi-Grav, Drop Pod - 325

Devastator Squad - 10 Men, 4 Grav Cannon + Grav Amp, Sergeant w/ Combi-Grav, Drop Pod - 325

LIBRARIUS CONCLAVE:

Tigurius - 165

Librarian - 65

Librarian - 65

Total: 1850

Keeps the 3 detachment limit, though, only 5 Warpcharges base... might simply get out-chucked on dice, since you'll average 8.5 Dice. Even throwing three - four at Invisibility to try to get that many successes, an Eldar Army with a Farseer could pretty easily just dump all their dice there and watch your invisibility disappear.

Have a Librarian get Prescience, have the other get something else you want/need. No beat stick deterrence for the Centurions, though. :/

EDIT #2: though I suppose if you dump all 8, and having blown Devastator Doctrine, would probably do enough damage that you won't really care to much about getting out-chucked later.

I actually think this formation allied with GK could be pretty good. Or at least, having tiggy roll on Sanctic. He should be able to get gate, vortex of doom and sanctuary fairly regularly. Hop around, squad never dies (assuming you have some storm shields) and you can toss out a vortex of doom every turn with very little issue.

How about a 5-man Librarius Conclave with all on bikes for 550 points? It's a Space Marine Seer Council!

Attach it to Thunderwolves, Ravenwing Black Knights, Iron Hands Command Squad...

I feel grav centstars are largely superfluous now in the age of Skyhammer drop grav-devs.

I suppose you can have your cake, though.

DropGrav Cents + Tiggy + SMSC (Space Marine Seer Council) + Bike Squad + Skyhammer, lol

I'd rather run three biker psykers with WS chapter tactics. It's better than Tiggy in multiple ways.

The formation sounds fun, especially buffing a Centstar but I'm just not buying it as competitively viable. MSU is going to rule the day. It is the age of the Gladius now, and to a lesser degree, the Decurion.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

The idea would be a nemesis strike force for draigo and fillers, an allied SM force for cents and some scouts with teleport homers, then a conclave with tiggy and two lvl 2 libs.

The star would be 3-4 cents, draigo and then the conclave. Tiggy would go for invis and the other two libs roll on divination for perfect timing. This makes the star highly more reliable against psyker heavy armies but takes away points that could be spent on other threats

Just pointing it out, but wouldn't it be Lib Council? Or something that doesn't have seer in it? Given there are no seers in said council XD
