For some reason, I think of 2000 points as more or less the standard. Back in the (2nd edition) days, most of our games defaulted to that size. I still think it's a good size, but time restraints might convince us to go lower (more often than not: either 1200 or 1500).

Imperial Fists, 3000 pts
Evil Sunz Orks, 2500 pts
Tyranids, 1000 pts
Death Guard (30K), 2500 pts

1500pts or Kill team seems to be most popular in my area.

1850 points, as that seems to be a tournament standard, though my housemate and I are building up to 2000 for a weekend at Warhammer World.

I may have to be TFG and play Eldar...

1000-2000, I only play smaller if I'm playing with new players.

Anything less than 1000 I'm not a huge fan of, once games get >3-3.5k I find they get out of hand.

So yeah, I prefer anything between 1-3k.

I have been participating in Tournament in several countries in South East Asia and seems that the general rules is 2000 PTS. Even for friendly matches.

3000 standard games. 1500 for Zone mortalis.

If we have multi player games we play more but have found anything below 3k just isnt very fun. Primarily this allows for the use of less common units and a larger variation in lists (i for example never play the same list twice)

our 3k games take ~3 hours to finish with experienced players.

You must not be drinking much beer or eating much pretzels with that kind of speed.

Most of my friends are starters, so I find 500 points common. When its just me, 1500-2000 is about fine. Usually 1500. Apocalypse is everything. Who needs points when you can just have a blast and blow stuff up

I have played mostly between 1500 and 2000.

Mostly. Sometimes just a little less. Maybe 1250ish.

It's hard to build lists much lower with nids.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

My local gaming group runs a 1500 pt league, so that tends to be the standard. but otherwise 1850

Why is it not yet the 21st century of the 20th century? I want my flying car!
