What makes you the MOST excited about Age of Sigmar?
The squating of serveral long-time factions!
Deep complex rules that fit in 4 pages!
Butchered names that only an IP lawyer could love!
Land Marines!
Round bases!
Moar Khorne models!
The destruction of 30 years of great stories and settings!
Mantic!
Value of my now OOP models with skyrocket on ebay!
Battle cat!
Can finally throw away those old models and rules taking up space!
Hammers!
Love me some reboots!
The slim dying hope that maybe, just maybe the current management can make a good game!

Yeah, I've never understood this fallacy.

Someone made fun of the company that makes the game I love??? I must INSULT THEM for daring to speak light of my game!!

I cannot believe how badly people are getting bent out of shape about a joke post about GW. Seriously, it's actually kind of scary.

Mean old dakka people

Well, in other news it seems that WH-AOS is going to be those four pages. And there isn't any real balancing of the armies- at least according to mikhaila, there's not even a points system! Just gentlemen's agreements on what constitutes an army. But I'm sure the largest tabletop company could never make a significant mistake...

I'm pretty sure that only legoburner, yakface, and a handful of other people not directly connected to dakka made MEdge. Neither the mods nor the rest of the posters on dakka had absolutely no connection to the making of that game.

But hey, keep propping up that strawman, I'm sure it'll hold up eventually. Maybe by then 40k will be converted into an entirely different game too! With only 2 pages of rules!

Thanks for the kind words.

I know there are people who looked at this and thought it was too negative, too cynical, too pessamistic.

Well I just saw Mikhaila's review of the game and realized...

I'm an optimist.

No, I can take a lot of joke, in fact I quite liked it when he first started doing this, just most jokes stop being funny when you repeat them for over year without moving onto something new. Errrr what? Don't even see how this is close to his other stuff other than the fact that it's making fun of games workshop. P.S. Pretty ironic considering you have that "In Russia" joke in your signature which is even older and significantly more lame

Well then, let's get back to the topic at hand then!

The war scrolls have surfaced and it looks like *drum roll* there are no points in the game! Yes, the only balancing comes from a "sudden death" scenario when your opponent outnumbers you in models!

My favorite part of KK's posts is that the jokes so often end up right next to reality

So if there are no point costs for units and armies the person with the biggest collection wins every time, because the sudden death objectives are optional.

Shred City.

They'll all be online by the weekend apparently.

I'm looking forward to how simplified the rules may end up being. One of the problems I always had with actually 'gaming' with my armies was none of my buddies had any interest in studying a rulebook for something that's supposed to be fun. I eventually stopped buying the BRBs because, well, aside from reading them myself I never actually used them.

Now it will be easier to find opponents because more people will be willing to learn a few pages of rules.

Excellent. Also, inb4 'competitive players' (lol) get all mad and tell me off in assorted styles.

Pretty funny when you realise it's better than that of Murica hurr durr.

I'll repeat myself from the previous page: "mad cuz bad". A simple, short sentence, so I'm sure you'll be able to understand it.

Although I'm not quite sure wjy you had to start with the "hurr durr Europoors suck Murica xD" anyway.

When even the mods themselves start troll threads, you know things have seriously gone to hell.

While I am in general pretty cynical about everything, and I fear this Age of Sigmar nonsense is the biggest disaster ever, very deep within me there is still a tiny sparkle of hope that GW will finally manage to put out a great ruleset (LOTR proves they can do it)

Nothing wrong with Dutch humour (note: despite the flag I am not Dutch). They have produced some pretty hilarious stuff. It is just that you won't be able to see that outside of the Netherlands because it is in Dutch, and people outside of the Netherlands usually are incapable of understanding that.
Also, the Dutch record may be a joke, the US one is just sad, especially from such a large country.
I agree with the Soviet Russia jokes being incredibly lame though.

You forgot the savings I will have by not investing in it. Heck if I want to play the train wreck, I can play with the models I already own. Its lose-lose! Our community gets divided on the game, nobody can get any games in either way, and GW dosen't make a dime. I dident think screw ups on this level by corporations were still a thing.

I think there's hope left in most of the people who frequent the GW-related forums- otherwise, why would we be here? It's just been let down by this slurry of releases that go in the following order:

Oh it can't be that bad.

Oh no, it is!

Oh but this bit is good news, so it's still good!

OH GOD, it's even worse than I could have imagined!

Correspondingly, the number of KK joke posts has been increasing since the replacement of 40k 6th with its pitiful two-year lifespan. I'd love to see GW put themselves back together, but in recent times we've been getting rumors of significant dissent within the group of designers, and we've lost nearly all of the people who made these games possible with no good replacements, so hope seems to dwindle (certainly don't have any in Jervis!). LOTR was indeed a great ruleset, but I think it marked the peak of rules produced by GW, and it's been sloping downhill at an ever-increasing rate.

Well, at least these rules are free!
