I can honestly say I'll be okay with a DoW1-esque game as well. I hope it's moddable, too. That said, I REALLY hope it won't be turn-based.

It won't be. I whould like it to be turn based, but the odds of that are quite low.

They need a new series... maybe Evening of War. or Dawn of Peace. Or Midday of Meh.
Seriously though would love to see what they do with part 3.

I hope it is like Men Of War assault squad. That game is really run for RTS style games.
I don't like in Dawn of War how many abilities there are per unit. Why do I have to manually throw a grenade? The grenade is pretty useless and I can only command 1 unit at a time to throw the grenade. A lot of special abilities are like this. I found I ended up simply spamming units to win (like the AI) and ultimately meant the game was only fun against other human players.

I found the grenade to be good in DoW I for knocking the enemy around. Damage wise, they aren't good (melta bombs were nice for a rush with assault marines if you wanted to do that) but they're good to slow the enemy a bit and get some extra hits in

I never bothered, it was easier to spend time clicking elsewhere. Especially because things that get knocked over don't get shot at. They ignore them until they stand again.

I want a mixture of both games. I utterly hate base building, but I also liked the scale of DOWI, especially modded so it had proper armor mechanics. Nothing irritated me more than some Ork Boyz somehow managing to poke a Baneblade to death, when their choppas should bounce off the armor and into their skulls (thank the Emperor for FOK).
If we're wishlisting, I want two game modes. Normal large scale battles and something akin to Kill Team.

I just hope it's moddable. I am way too realistic to hope that it will be what I want from it, so all I hope is that I can mod it into something that is! If it continues in the same direction as DoWII went from DoWI though (except for scale, it doesn't need to get smaller) it can become a very good game.
