Oi... it's amazing that this isn't a big dealio...

Not only did guns purchased in the Fast and Furious operation find their way into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels, but they also found their way into the hands of a radical Islamic terrorist inside the US.

And the corruption and flagrant disregard for American laws goes on unabated. But God forbid somebody shoots a freak'in cat. Some country... huh?

Kinda like when regan sold missiles to Iran amirite?

Did you really just pull something from 30 years ago out of a hat to try to justify this? Or are you just trying to turn the topic away?

Eitherway, the Iran-Contra thing has nothing to do with our current administration handing weapons to people who are using them to kill Americans, on American soil.

Not justify it, just trying to point out the hypocrisy in the rhetoric coming from posters in this thread.

There is no hypocrisy. You introduced a topic that had nothing to do with this, and was not being discussed at all. For there to have been hypocrisy, folks would have had to have been actively been trying to justify the Iran-Contra deal while still attacking Fast and Furious. That hasn't happened from any posters on this thread. You were trying to draw attention away from the discussion, because it's something that makes your "side" look bad.

There is zero in common between these two things. Stop trying to claim there is.

You and I must be reading very different threads then. I saw islamic terrorists or some combination thereof multiple times in this thread. I point out it has been done before, and done by the republican pride and joy reagan, after the hostage situation and to a country that doesn't like us very much. So while yes you can be angry at both situations don't act like this is not the first time it has happened.

Has anyone in this thread said that what Reagan did was justified while decrying the ATF for Fast and Furious? It is possible for people to think that both courses of action were ill advised

You seem to assume we approved the missle deal. I doubt most of the posters here were above the age of 5 if they were born at all. A goofy comparison on your part.

What about discussing current events implies to you that others are acting like an unrelated event that happened decades ago never happened?

You are obviously failing to grasp what I am getting at. But I won't be discussing this any further since OP asked me not to.

That might be because you are failing to explain it in a way that makes any sense. No disrespect to the OP, but the OP doesn't own the thread, or control the course of the discussion, so there is nothing stopping you from trying to explain yourself. If you're just looking for a way to bow out of the conversation though, I suppose that excuse is as good as any.

If there is a valid argument to be made that helps shape the conversation, and isn't just "This person also did something bad", then I'm happy enough to hear it.
