Inquisitor Jericho is standing before the Golden Throne of Terra. The Custodes are moving in to kill him. The Emperor decides he wants to have a talk, and so freezes time so he and Kal can have a sit-down.

pretty darn close... the Emperor is your friend, he's always there for you. If you pray hard enough, sincere enough, he will hear you and help you. Find him, find the Emperor. Lower your head, close your eyes. Now raise you head and see through your mind's eyes, see? He's right there with you.

Lol just read Cypher's data slate. Classic GW hyperbole. "He is the most mysterious mystery enigma mystery-er, you guys!" It seems like if Cypher wanted to be in the throne room - he would be. He is impossible to catch, masks his psychic presence, nobody even knows if it is multiple people or not. He is so mysterious, nobody even knows his allegiance! *Twilight zone theme*

Anyway.. when he was alive, did the Emperor made regular public appeareances or something? I haven't read all the book so I constantly wonder how his days on Terra were spent. For how plenty of stuff to do he might have been, it's strange to imagine a leader of his greatness just staying close in the Palace all the time
He spent virtually the entirety of the Great Crusade at the fore, murdering Xenos and destroying Empires. I think that Horus was only Warmaster for maybe 20 years before he went rogue.
