There is no efficent way to kill a WK by conventional shooting / assault. Its just not possible. If you dont have any form of D or at least instant death, don't point a single gun at it.

One of the best ways (if not THE best) way to kill a WK is actually a Demon Prince with the Black Mace. Its got a remove from play mechanic that bypasses eternal warrior.

A DP on the charge gets roughly a coinflip on insta-killing a WK on initiative. That chance drops to about a third if the WK uses the 5++ shield.

iirc Gargantuan Creature immunizes you to remove from play effects. You take extra wounds instead, just like from ID attacks.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Thanks for bringing it up. I just looked it up and indeed, "remove from play" effects are covered by the rules as well.

I redid my math under that assumption real quick. A DP with the Black Mace on the charge will put about 3.333 Wounds on an unshielded WK (actually its a little less as I calculate 3 average attacks for the BM, which isnt true).
Those 3.333 Wounds lead to 0,55 BM procs, which translates to about 1.1 extra wounds, resulting in 4.4 wounds total. This is still an OK result, but the WK doesnt die, i.e. his IWND kicks in, boosting his survivalbility through the roof again.
The DP is going to die of course, assuming un-FAQed D and stomp rules.

If the WK uses the shield (which he should) all your hopes of ever killing him go down the loo.

Eh, wouldn't guarantee a shield on the WK's part. Double Wraithcannon is the common assumption - so I rarely impart the 5++ on the WK.

4 Maulerfiends, 2 lashers, 2 melta, you win. A bogged down WK cannot kill that many nuisances quickly enough in order to survive combat.

If bikes come into play, Helldrake them off the board.

The Wraithknight can Stomp the Maulerfiends into oblivion, so I wouldn't bet on this too hard. Not to mention that you can almost get 2 WKs from the cost of the four Maulerfiends.

I've personally done this and have dealt with 2 in a single game. I lost 2 by the end of the game sure, but the effect was still there. 2 Dead WKs. Stomps aren't scary. 6s happen, but no where nearly as often as you'd think to scream rapture lol
