Don't you remove models in between each template, reducing models to hit?
Yep. For example, a Tactical Squad would want to shoot their flamer before they shot their bolters, because you remove models between weapon types (if you shot your flamer second, you wouldn't generate hits against the enemy models that just died from bolter fire) In the case of a Dreadnought, the right-hand heavy flamer would be twin-linked, and the under-slung would be a regular non-twin-linked heavy flamer - different profiles, so different weapons. Under the normal shooting rules, you would shoot with one, roll to wound, roll to save, remove models, and then shoot with the next one. This is inefficient compared to the Ironclad Dreadnought, who can take 2x regular Heavy Flamers - because they're the same weapon (same name, same profile), you generate all the hits from both templates, then roll to wound.
However, if you take a look at the Template
USR, it mentions that a unit who is firing more than one shot with the Template type first generates all their hits for every weapon, and then rolls to wound for all of them. There is some contention about whether that works across different weapons (e.g., the
TL HF and
HF of a Dreadnought), but my interpretation is that you effectively do simultaneous fire with all your template weapons. That means you can mix-and-match different types of flamers without worrying about removing models between weapon types.
