Subject: Ork Big Rig and Trailer - Scratch built (Videos & Pictures)

Thanks very much!
Not much of an update today guys, though I was working on making my first scale barrel to be recast and used on all sorts of projects I have planned. Here's what I got done:
The barrel on the left is bought and the Ork is there for scale too.
I am pretty happy wit the scale and actually thing the oversized lip at the top and bottom kinda makes it work well for heroic scale.
This project is awesome. I love it all. I wish you could paint (although I'm one to talk), but perhaps you'd consider sending it out to be painted by someone? I feel it would be a shame to leave this awesome build bare.
I guess that Ork conductor is having a bad day Great work on the shootas and flamer, I saw that video about them and it sounded like it was time consuming . Can't wait for more updates

Cheers! It will get painted, I am just not sure when or by who. I think will inevitably bite the bullet and paint it myself and then if I screw up sulk for a long while

Cheers! of all of the small things I have made, I would say the Barrel was the most time consuming, and then the new engine (photo update on that below) and then the shootas. I say that because I managed to make 3 of them from scratch in a single evening while watching TV. I love the 'Ork yob arms' that Fox-box does, they add so much character!
I have been working on a scratch built engine alternative for my models, again hoping to get it cast, this is what I have so far:
I have tried to make it as compatible with the official Ork Trukk frame and engine additions as possible.
Still a fair bit of detail to add and I might have a second go with a different intake design tonight (something more akin to the new Mad Max engines maybe)
Turned out a winner and looking good but it does need paint, if you don't want to do it then you will have to find someone who does it is a shame not to give it the finishing touch
Plus Good idea to place it on the keypad as it gives you a sense of the size of it

I have started adding some more details to the two engines, and here are the results:
I decided to chop the fronts off to see how they worked as possible modular components for customisation:

Thanks very much!
I seem to have got a little side-tracked and have made an engine that works really well on an Ork Trukk and not so much on my big rig due to it's tall size:
I'm not sure it works so well with the big scoop intake, but I tried it anyway and here's the photo of that.
As always; comments and criticism are very welcome!
lone dirty dog wrote:Nice job some beastly looking engine blocks very Orcy, like the versatility of the belt drives as well you should cast them up and sell them.
Great stuff mate
Warboss_Waaazag wrote:I feel like the engines should have gouts of flame shooting up out of their cylinders. Looks absolutely awesome.
Thanks guys! This new one really looks mean and heavy, chuffed with how it's turned out.
I have added most of the finishing touches to the third engine, here's the update photos:
Here it is in the big rig trukk, it's massive!
This last photo is me trying the air scoop on the top, not sure how it looks...
Thanks for looking!

I have been working on getting the second part of the tanker set up finished, this is the current progress:
This is actually a new flat deck part, so I still have the original two without any sides. It now holds 4 big shootas and the skorcha. I think all that is missing is a whole bunch of oil drums for the flat deck.
As always your feedback is very welcome!
Thanks for looking!
