I've had games were ive misread a unit entry or only had a short time to do a list and overpaid for things. A classic noob mistake - I somehow thought assault marines could all take Melta bombs at 5 pts a model. Paid 100pts for them across 2 squads. Charged a knight titan with a "hah I've got Melta bmbs!" The other guys like "oh on your seargent?" Me... "No on all of them"

.. He proceeds to show me the correct entry (I had only borrowed the book quickly to make a list to see if I liked the units etc)
And I'm like ..... "Oh derp. Guess I spent 100 pts too much"

Finished off the game, managed a draw. But was certainly amusing.

Not points but stats...

When i first played Grey Knights when they were daemonhunters, the regular guys had WS5 but i must have misread it and thought they had BS5!

It was my first game and i had no idea how amazing BS5 across a whole army would be. It was little more than a practice game though and then 5th ed grey knights came out... and it didn't seem as op!

Early on, I confused combi-melta with multi-melta and never shot my multi-meltas more that once per game.

You can intentionally deploy with more points than you're given if you're playing Admech War Convocation.

Dat extra 700pts.
