Liking the scythe!

Yeah the scale is odd. Quite honestly I don't think the metal is better, as the detail is very shallow on my Fulgrim. Now primed, he barely has any. And I hope you'd trust that I did it lightly. :/

Hmm, funny that, as on Vulkan and Lorgar the details are really sharp and deep. Wasn't Fulgrim one of the earlier ones they did, that could perhaps explain it?

I did say I'd be spamming this thread with WIPs, so up next is Morty's cape:

Carried over the same stained look from the scythe here, and did a lot of drybrushing to get that threadbare, frayed look on the fabric.

Any thoughts welcome!

Very nice. Your style is perfect.

I'd say that you could go back and do some tarnished detail picking out, like the skull in the cape.

I ummed and aahed about the skull on the cloak, I considered giving in the NMM gold like the rest but in the end, figured that might disrupt the look of the cloak too much. So at the moment it's painted as if it's just sewn.embroidered/whatever the proper term is into the cloak's fabric...

I may well go back and change that, though.

gorgeous job on the cloak - I can almost feel the texture of the cloth. The staining on it works fantastically. I'd go with BC on the skull emblem though. Maybe jsut something to make it stand out from the material a little. differnet coloured glaze and a subtle highlight maybe...

I've hit it with a black wash that has definitely brought it out more from a distance, and almost gives it the look of being dyed or even seared into the fabric. We'll see what's that like when it dries, and go from there.

Thanks for the compliments, both!

Now, I'm not promising that I'll go straight on to the next one tomorrow, but if I were to, any preferences from anyone? Vulkan or Lorgar?

Sizing up this guy tonight, his face is horrifyingly fine.

I've now cracked off his loincloth and am doing the prime again.

That is a fine figure BC. Much prefer this version of Fulgrim to the FW one. The face on the FW Fulgrim is wretched. This sculpts captures his 'beauty' and arrogance so much better. Looking forward to seeing you paint him up.

@Para - Vulcan. Lorgar looks a little static.

I actually like the FW Fullers and was hoping to do him to accompany this one.
But his face does look like a sex doll.

I do like the FW Fulgrim, but this model/pose is definitely more how I imagined him from the fluff, especially prior to his involvement with Chaos. The FW version is more suited to his bat-guano crazy side.

There was an alternate Fulgrim done by FW, but it never got released (although I guess they still could in future), but his face/hair is still a bit off.

Oh man, I would be so troubled to choose between the two.
The current one is frenzied, which suits, but that's so nice.

Better pics of Morty are now up in Showcase and my blog! One down, on to the next, and since Januine was the only one to put forward a request, he got his wish! On to Vulkan of the Salamanders!

Any thoughts welcome as ever! On to the NMM gold!

Good god, I feel slow just looking at the half finished version.

I'm hopefully getting some air purples today. Looking forward to doing that cape.

Oh man I'll totally do that.

Rarepepe Gentooman is a lost cause, I honestly don't think i have the ability to repair him, let alone in 2 weeks.

So, I'm switching to fulgrim, will get some pics up tonight

I'll take pics of that too then

You ever see a miniature that has had the mold lines removed by a dremel with the sanding drum attachment? I have, it was better than this.
