All-dread lists - with pods - are both low model count and full of surprises. For example:

BA Flesh Tearers Strike Force nets you
2 Librarian Furiosos [HQ]
Cassor the Damned [TROOPS]
3 Frag Furiosos
6 Drop pods [3 FAST ATTACK slots, with 3 dedicated transports]

Ally in Champions of Fenris' Brethren of the Fell-Handed formation:
Bjorn with drop pod
2 Axe/Shield venerable dreads, each with a drop pod

Total model count: 18

Roughly 1800-1850 points; for other point totals, season to taste, or remove some pods.
Advantages: You can ignore a majority of enemy shooting, null deploy to avoid an alpha strike, and even have some warp charge to throw in the mix.
Disadvantages: Grav hurts, Obj Sec can be tough (you only have two via Cassor and his pod)

How would you split it up? 3 godhammers and 3 redeemers? maybe 3 godhammers, 2 redeemers and 1 crusader?

well, I think the three godhammers is a must so you can at least attempt to kill tough stuff, I would go with three redeemers. They are cheaper and do well with enough hordes. The Hurricane Bolters just don't do it. The Crusader is meant for moving bodies, and you would have none.

No imperial knights eh? What about the titans?

Kastellan Robots in formation with a Dominus is perhaps the best single unit with the lowest model count per points.

I go with 3 Godhammers and 3 Redeemers and just put EVERYTHING ON AUTOPILOT.

It's even meaner in 750 points since you can field 3 land raiders and nothing else. Add in an Inquisitor for a 1000 points of CHEEESE.

Woops. Looks like I failed the hard mode. Go CSM? As long as you don't spam unupgraded stock marines or cultists, you will have a low model count because everything is so expensive.
