I haven't bought a codex in years for precisely this reason.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

My main issue is GWs random order. Some codex's languish for a near decade while Eldar and Marines have lapped several codexes.

i think the quicker codex turn around is great.

I get that it sucks paying out that much, but I'm sure many of you remember how we all hated the old slow gw.

The quick money Hungry gw is actually a better guy than the ponderous, oblivious gw.

Now if only those faqs would come out faster...

Getting everyone updated in a reasonable timeframe is a good thing. Playing with last edition’s codex is never a good thing. I think there is a happy medium somewhere though. And I agree on the FAQs. If GW wants to sell me rules as often as they do, please at least make sure they work. GW has high quality minis, and good customer service if there is a problem there. The rules side of the fence is abysmal though.

I don’t regret a penny I spend on minis, but most of the cash I spend on rules. The two year cycle is taking a toll on my will to stay active in 40k.

My main two opponents are tau and eldar, the forces that need an faq the worst! I typically just let them play with the maximum interpretations of their rules, and I trudge on relentlessly through the gloom with my Decurion. Even if gw rules in favor of infinite warping warp spiders and tau combined nuclear strike, I just want to know for sure.
