Orks are confirmed to be the only thing that's been found outside of our galaxy so I suppose they'll never be stopped. My money is on the orks.
Eldar are screwed and have been screwed for the last 15.000 or so years.
Humanity has a higher chance to come out on top then it seems if the starchild theory is to be believed.
lol, tau.
As long as orks exist, khorne will.
EDIT: Yep, yep he would.
Still, chaos can't win. If it corrupted everything there would be no one left in the material universe for the warp to reflect of and hence it would become a silent, quiet, empty empyrian.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary. |

I don't think the necrons are strong enough. They super king fled from nids and started to resurect tomb worlds in panic just to slow down their escape. And if he does that when necron can blow up whole star systems just by using one of their star maps, then necron do not come even close to what demons or tyranids can do.

Necron's technology is the most destructive still around here. Just look at the World Engine. I'm sure they still have some Death Stars lying around.

Most likely it will be the Tau or Chaos. The Tau since they follow an exponential growth pattern in their technology, unless they are killed off relativly soon, and the Chaos since they defy reason and feed off the physical realm.
The Tau now have technology that is superior to the general IoM technology (save for the stuff the Mechanicus is hiding) and is starting to force the IoM to redirect major forces away from threats like Chaos and Tyranids.
The Tau have found a way to purge Orks from their planets permanently, which is no easy feat.
The Tau have also begun adapting to how the Tyranids adapt and are finding congenial weaknesses to their structure. You can't adapt to something if it kills you too quickly.
The Tau have always been the rising threat, and it seems now that the sun has started to crest the horizon.
If the Tau can survive another 1000 years or so, their technology will seem like magic and be able to brush away the IoM and may have technology similar to the Necron's.
The Necrons have succeeded on creating anti-Warp regions with their gloom prisms and the C'tan pylons. Since these are just pieces of technology, I have little doubt that with enough time, the Tau will create similar devices.

Dude Orks thrive off of war, Khorne is the god of war...
In fact, orks do feed khorne. There's a planet in khorne's realm where he slaughters Orks continuously... Then let's the spores regrow, then sends his daemons to slaughter them again. Endlessly feeding Khorne... lol

The first part is correct. But Necrons don't like Tyranids. The Necrons (at least a good portion of them) are either A. Looking to reclaim their dynasty, and they can't do that if the world is dead. Tyranids leave their meals as mere husks, essentially. And B. A lot of Necrons are looking to find a way to transfer their essence into a suitable species. They can't do that if they're all dead. This is correct. And the Silent King didn't flee because he thought he couldn't handle it. He fled to get back to the galaxy first to prevent the loss of life. So, his plan was to start waking Tomb Worlds early to combat the Tyranids to preserve the fate of the galaxy.

Necrons are not going to be left standing. They will probably after Tau and Eldar die off, just because their minds are broken, lots of their tomb worlds are destroyed, and their method of travel is being destroyed. Now, it may be a big Webway, but it is still collapsing and trying to kill the Eldar. Also, many are falling to the Flayer virus, as well as losing their minds to forget fullness. I mean, Games Workshop is setting them up to be killed off like the Space Dwarves who failed at solar surfing. They even got taken over by a glitchy computer on one world who's busy conquering everyone else. It's only due to their resilience that they will last past the Tau and Eldar. Also, their leaders are still going to be picked off one by one. There may be thousands of Nobles, but these are lesser nobles, and really aren't good enough to fight like they are right now. They can't even get new leaders due to the fact that they are old machines from the beginning of the Universe. Even factoring in the C'tan, they really would just delay the inevitable. The C'tan would end up breaking out one year and be a scourge on the necrons for a long time. It's something the Necrons know will happen sometime, so they put them in a stop time field to delay it. (I know that's not the machine's name). Also, their troops will run out, as they can't come up with more, since there is no such thing as reproduction.
Time will kill. it's a pain in the neck.
Orks will last. Just because they are putting their emotions into their gods to starve Chaos, and their material forces are unlimited. because fungus is a pain in the neck.

If the necrons can seal off the warp like they attempted to before (pre-retcon, anyway), then Chaos loses. Then the Necrons just have to glass every planet and keep a stable human population alive for experimentation. The only thing they would have to worry about then are malfunctions, rogue C'tan and revolts.

"Time will kill Necrons, but not Orks"
That doesn't make any sense. Time doesn't pick and choose who it works on.
Especially whenever Tyranids can directly feed and grow on Ork biomatter.
You're also making some assumptions of Necrons.
Firstly, they don't use the Eldar Webway. They gradually speed up until they reach FTL speeds, then slow down gradually as they reach their destination.
Both Necrons and Chaos are unique in that they can potentially show up wherever they want to in the galaxy without assistance.
Secondly, you're assuming that the remainder of the Necron leaders are either lesser lords or not as competent as the Phareons currently awoken.
In reality, the named lords that we currently know of are merely the most prominent lords that have already awoken by 40K, not necessarily the greatest leaders of the ancient Necrontyr.

Their inertialess drives still exist, right ?
Not in the 5th book. They do have FTL, but its very slow, and nothing like what they had before.
If they actually wanted to get anywhere, they had to use something called a Dolmen Gate and hijack the webway.
It was pretty dumb.
Apparently FW tried making it less dumb, but I already forgot.

Unless the latest book got rid of dolmen gates. I should really read the new fluff.
Oh good god.
Give another two editions and Necrons won't even be mechanical anymore.
They'll probably take away the RP too.

Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins

Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.] |

I flicked through the latest book, and there's even less lore. Still Dolmen gates though.

War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

Such crunch, much balance. Wow. Also, Wraiths. Wraiths everywhere.

Ward is a crunch writer. His attempts as writing fluff were horrible, ultramarine-tinted grimdark Smurfs comics.

Eh, he's a bit better than Kelly, I'll give him that. Kelly has an interesting track record of breaking the game, often with Eldar. Like, GK had a bad reputation, but it still wasn't as bad as Wave Serpents (5th or 6th, I forget) and leap-frogging Harlequins with that veil of tears thing (4th) His ork codex wasn't great though. A bit bland.
