Now we need a reason to use those "high" PS generics...

...and please understand that I love this game. No system is perfect, I realize, but if there was a way to make competitive lists with the lesser used choices, I'm all for it.

Could the adaptability card be a way to increase a mid-PS ace by bringing down another plebe riding along with them? I know it won't apply to greys and daggers, but red squad vets could boost Poe just enough and keep his cost further down, for instance.

Most generics do not have access to Elite Pilot talents. With the exception of Crack Shot swarms, we rarely see these guys anyways.

If there is a real problem with 'bottom-tier' pilots, then the key in my brain is to play up their vulnerabilities - Predator is a good example of this, although (unfortunately) the distinction is only so-so; a one-die reroll with a focus token is generally as much as you need anyway; getting the bonus reroll against 'turkeys' is very much an unnecessary extra.

In theory, Flight Instructor might work too, but a combination of a 'spare' crew slot and enough agility to make the card worth it is rare.

Also, many mid-tier aces don't have elite pilot talents.

It's too late now, but I wonder if a system where low-PS pilots had no EPT slot, mid-tier did, and then aces were high_PS with no EPT (as they already have a special ability built in) would have worked.

Before you all tell me this would make some pilots worthless or whatever, I'm not talking about fiddling with the pilots as they are now, but rather a "what-if", if they'd thought it through more to begin with.

Make it "pilot skill higher than 4" or something similar to A-Wing Test Pilot.

I meant to say High-PS generics. I swear.
