Seriously though, nobody needs 35 actual GW Drop Pods. We're going to try this out, but do so as an exercise in proxying. Upside down red Solo cups are about the perfect size and shape to count as a Drop Pod.
You stand corrected sir. 3D printer running non top for 48 hours says otherwise. CAD up some proxy pod and slap some conversion bits amd blam. Insta- lols.... and mazes

I was actually designing my own drop pods for Imperial Fists.
It's shaped like a fist. And opens up like a fist.
Homebrew rules include letting it get a Demolisher-cannon hit if it lands on an enemy unit with Ignores cover, then the enemy unit is moved out of the way to make room for the pod.
Proper Fists of Dorn mate.

Now I wish Orks had droppods...because oh egads, the conversion possibilities.... I've never understood why Orks DON'T have Drop Pods. I know this is Proposed Rules territory, but I've always imagined something very similar to a Space Marines Drop Pod, but with the following Caveats... 1. It would totally be called a "Fist of Mork (or maybe Gork)" 2. Keep the rule that let's you reduce scatter, but take d6 wounds with no save allowed on the inside models if you have to use it. or... 3. Roll a d6 for each model inside upon landing. On a 1, take a wound with no save allowed. or maybe even... 4. Upon landing and before any disembarkation occurs, the "Fist of Mork (or maybe Gork)" suffers an Explodes result. I kind of like the last one best.

For Orks its go big or go home. Why drop a little pod on your enemies when you can drop an entire rok on them

You're telling me that there wouldn't be Speed Freakz dropping in faster, smaller, less 'ard roks to get to the killy bitz quicker?

haha--explode part! I'd be fine/would like the option to take D6 wounds too. I'd also increase its transport capabilities to offset the potential calamities (say, 20 models). But why not keep all those ideas? Make it a result chart on which you roll a D6 upon landing:
D6 result
1) Calamity! Upon landing and before any disembarkation occurs, the "Fist of Mork (or maybe Gork)" suffers an Explodes! result.
2) WAAAGH- NOOO! the Fist of Mork scatters D6", Roll a d6 for each model inside upon landing. On a 1, take a wound with no save allowed.
3) Sumtin' ain't right: the Fist of Mork scatters D6", and the unit inside suffers D6 Str 4 hits with no AP
4) we be off kurs! The Fist of Mork Scatters D6" (allowing subtractions as normal)
5) Dat's how it's dun! the Fist of Mork lands precisely on target.
6) GERONIMO!!! The Fist of Mork slams into the ground with tremendous force, knocking enemies assunder! Upon landing and before any disembarkation occurs, each unit within 6" of the Fist of Mork immediately suffers a single stomp attack.
Okay, so that last one's likely a bit ridiculous...

Those would be the Angry Marine pattern Drop Pods.
EDIT: The reason there's no Roks in the game is because GW won't make any money off of the kits.
Like, why pay 45-50 bucks for a plastic rok when I can just go outside and grab a rok and glue some guns on it fer free?

You do realize how large an Ork Rok is, right?
Note the stompa/gargant in front of the rok.
